-Independent suspension on the rear -Glovebox light switch, upper and lower -handbrake (foot e-brake digs into my ankle) -higher tilt wheel -further back seat adjustment -seat height adjustment -DRL -Tire Pressure Monitoring (Heck, it's done with the ABS speed sensor, so for crying out loud, add it to the software!) -Rear audio/ DVD system -MP3 CD/ DVD player -NavTech XM link like Acura -a plug in for more EV -rear door SKS -Supercharger (just a little for those of us at altitude, where the air is thin!) -rear torso side airbags -a real gauge set -rear disc brakes -improved UI on the MID Nate
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(naterprius\";p=\"53507)</div> If I understand you correctly, you want rear doors to open with SKS? I haven't set ours up yet, but if I understand the manual you can set the SKS to open all doors instead of just the driver door.
This was my thought while making the 6 hour drive home, through a timezone. It would be nice if the clock autoupdated for the timezone the car is in. GPS... ya know. I would have been IMPRESSED. Doesn't really matter that it didn't self adjust, but I would have been IMPRESSED. Japan all in one time zone?
Are disc brakes for the rear wheels that important? I was under the impression that there is no real braking advantage to rear discs. Front yes, but rear not so much.
Disk brakes on the rear don't improve braking all that much for lightweight low power cars, but they do provide better braking for heavier and/or performance cars like large sedans, minivans, SUVs, and muscle cars. Disk brakes perform more efficiently because they cool more efficiently. On the other hand they are more complex, therefore more expensive. Like everything else, it's a cost/benefit engineering/marketing trade-off.
There is allot of future is missing over each market, Well, Japanese Prii have Available Automatic light turn on or off switch (For Touring Pkg) Available leather wrap steering wheel(for Touring Pkg) 16" rim with Spoiler Pkg(for Touring Pkg) But we don't get rear disk brake Fender turn signal indicator is require by law in Japan and Europe but not in U.S Right hander Prii get height adjustable seat but not for Left hander. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Intelligent Parking Assist is uses less, I never used yet. Back Up camera is nice Running light(City lights) in Japan and Europe could convert to DRL in U.S and Canada. OR just uses Fog lights for HID equipped Prii Should come with DRL switch in U.S Adjustable confirmation BEEP level Option for Ipod Doc. Brake that work in Emergency situtaiton
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(DaveinOlyWA\";p=\"53625)</div> I knew that the clock display was off when the car was off, but I sort of assumed that the H or M button would display the clock. Just tried it. It doesn't. That's odd.
-MP3 input for my ipod -Voice Activated Blue Tooth Phone -Ability for passenger to enter info on the display screen (phone or nav) while the car is traveling -Extended Sun Visors -Lifetime fuel consumption meter -Accurate Fuel Gauge -Gray Interior with the Colored Exterior
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(JHartman\";p=\"53666)</div> *** MP3 *** NAV Entry on the run *** Gray Interior for colors !!! Here Here..
I'd like the computer to keep track of all my gasoline purchases. The computer already is capable of keeping track of miles driven and todays date. The fact that it resets when you fill up says it knows when you fill up. Maybe when we fill up, the screen could automatically ask how many gallons did we just fill and how much total money did we just spend. Then the computer would take all the data that it already is capable of getting and compute the MPG, the price per gallon, the total MPG and the total spent on gas. It could also possibly keep track of the average MPH for the last tank and the computer's MPG, and the average ambient temperature. And all of this data could be blue-toothed to a spreadsheet file on a laptop. Of course, for those that couldn't be bothered, it needs a shut off mode so it doesn't ask you each time you fill up. Of course, eventually that would probably be for all of us.
Is it possible that Toyota tries out brainstorms on the Japanese market first? The successful ideas move on to the European and/or North American markets based on who yells the loudest, and on local laws, e.g. the Canadian requirement for DRL....?
I'd like the recirculate to turn itself off after 15 minutes. I turn the darned thing on when I'm behind a smokey bus and then forget it's on recirculate until the car turns into a greenhouse and the windows all fog up! My old 280ZX used to switch out of recirculate after 15 minutes, and I really liked that feature. Coastal Dave?? Geoff
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(priusham\";p=\"53261)</div> About the leather interior: Toyota decided that leather was not in the environmental theme of the car and elected not to offer it as an option even though it is one of the most sought after after-market options. Not meant as a criticism of anyone who chooses to get leather, but an interesting insight into how thoroughly thought out this car is.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(tntna\";p=\"53595)</div> In Japan is one time zone and Japanses market Prius come with Atomic Clock. So, I dont have to adjust. Atomic Watch by Casio
I wish my soon to be prius had a mechanical arm. To shove plugs into gas guzzling SUV's exhausts.
that's a nice one syzygy personally i dont like leather. for one it has a nautious smell 2. bad for environment 3. horribly cold in winter 4. horrible burning in summer 5. cracking looks ugly
Hmm...GeoffM's post reminded me of something. I think the Prius needs an electrostatic particulate filter so that an auto-recirc feature can be installed
Head of the line privilege from Toyota Corporate should my Salsa Baby be totaled in an accident or stolen. I fear being forced back into an old style car that *gasp* idles - while being made to endure the hell of another 203 days on the waiting list. (An actual dream/nightmare sequence). This type of goodwill program would cost Toyota Corporate very little money and would allow me to get a better nights sleep.
