Hey, that's where I'm getting my Prius. It's on special order. Also from Greg and the internet. I'm waiting for a Mag Grey 2008 Touring Prius with Pkg 3. I got 12 prices from 12 dealers including Auburn Toyota. I called and told him what I had and they not only matched it, but they beat it. They also threw in the carpeted mats and bumper applique after I told them I didn't want them. When you special order a Prius, or any car for that matter, you can get it the way you want it. You don't have to take any accessories. I could have gotten a really good deal on Pkg 6, but I didn't want the leather or the navigator. So, the price was $25,000 and out the door with all fees, tax, and lic is $27,100 and I'm happy with the price. I wasn't looking forward to driving that long distance home from the bay area in a car I wasn't familiar with. Now I only have to drive 20 miles and I know that freeway so well I can do it with my eyes closed. Since you got such a good deal I think that I'm going to haggle a bigger and better discount when I pick up the car. Why quit now. You must have had your tax and license fees added on in Reno, right? I thought that was cool, buying it in CA and getting free shipping to NV.

Man you guys all got great deals At Hayward Toyota in Hayward, CA I paid $41 000 after all was said and done (including warranty options and a bunch of other immaterial money-wastes) and I took delivery (nine months after I ordered the car). Please tell me someone else spent that much or at least near to it for their 2006? ~ dan ~
Wow, nice price. I got my 2008 Base with Package #5 from Toyota of San Bernardino (California) for $25,500 + ttl. Love mine too!!
fruzzetti, I'm sorry to say this to you, but what were you think'g when you agreed to pay the $41,000 for your 2006 Prius? In 2005 when I bought my Prius, the fully loaded pkg #6 went from $26,600 t0 $26,900 (before port installed options & standard dealer fees) in Aug (the price increase was $300 across the board for all Priuses). I think in 2006 they went up to a pkg #8 (with factory leather?), but that shouldn't have added much more than $1,000 extra. I just priced (on Toyota's website) a 2008 pkg #6 (regular, NOT touring---did they have the touring version in '06 & maybe that's the one you got?). I added all the port installed options (except the satellite radio & alarm & glass breakage sensor) & came up with $28,116 (again, without standard dealer fees). Even if I added in a 6% sales tax of $1,687 (which CT buyers DON'T have to pay because it's a hybrid that gets at least 40 MPG), that still only comes to $29,803. And you can get a 7yr/100,000 mile/$0 deductible official Toyota Financial warranty here on this site for about $990 still, so that would bring you to $30,793 for THIS YEAR'S model with all the goodies. Your state sales tax may be higher than the 6% that I used but it should still come in around $31,000. I hate to say it, but I think you paid about $10,000 too much (especially for a 2006). Did you not look at the window stickers to know what the MSRP was then? By 2006 there should have been cars on the lot to look at since they had increased the production rate for the Prius. At delivery, did they give you YOUR window sticker? In Ct it's a state law that the dealer has to give you yours (unless you decline it), even if the original was destroyed in the dealer prep process (they can be reprinted by VIN # from the vehicle manufacturer's database). Or you could have just built & priced your own on Toyota's website (like I did) or gotten the same info from NADA, Kelly Blue Book, or Edmund's. Next time shop more carefully or go to a more ethical/fair dealer. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you did ask. Ken (in Bolton,Ct)
I paid a ton of money, yes. But remember that price includes all sorts of extra services, including a service package, VIN etchings, LoJack #2, custom leather work, tinted glass, blah blah blah. So the price I paid was very high because of the value on top of the car. The car itself was the same as the sticker prices all you guys paid, high 20s. I just don't remember anything from my contract but the bottom line ~ dan ~ But yes, I'm aware I paid a lot.
Picked up our 2008 pkg#6 yesterday, paid $26,300 before tax, with the State of Illinois offering $1000 green reward bringing it down to $25,300 I think we did ok. 2nd day and I think I am driving my better half crazy with the voice recognition, sure is a lot of fun. Sitting here tonight celebrating while I read the owners manual, boy is there a lot to learn. Thanks to all for the wealth of information on this site
We just plunked down $23,404 for a 2008 with package 2, before state tax but after all transfer and dealer fees. We bought it in Southern Indiana. We are just trying to work out whether we made a good deal or not. I am thinking just barely "fair".
2008 Metallic Gray Package #2 $22000 sale price, $23012 out the door Alexandria Toyota Alexandria, VA See here for more information about getting a good deal in northern VA: http://priuschat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40886 Very nice auto.
My 2008 touring #6 was under $30K out the door in No. California. I worked with the internet manager & got a Costco discount.
Ok first post going to pick up my 2008 Spectra Blue Friday special ordered dealer had to find it and have it shipped. I paid 22.438 plus tax and Lic do you think I got screwed?
Yesterday I purchased a Grey Metallic, Package #2 for $22,000 at Toyota of Pasadena (CA). The sticker price was $23,839. This included the carpeted floor mats, cargo mat, and cargo net. They also gave me the first aid kit. The total for the car was $24,068 after tax and license. I also purchased the 7/75 Platinum extended warranty for $1,045. So my out the door cost was $25,113. I'm pretty happy.
