Can the shifter be changed?

    Can the gear shifter be removed/changed? I was thinking of replacing it with something a little flashier...maybe a chrome skull with red LED eyes :p :D

    I think it screws off.

    When I was at a car show, the shifter head had been removed. There were bare threads. I suggest you try this on your car since I'm not going to try it on mine. :)

    gonna have to use a ton of elbow grease... tried to do it with minimal force but it wouldn't budge

    If you were considering one of those old Hurst bang-shifters...I don't think it'll fit...
