Flip on the fly license plate If you don’t want other people reading your license plate, you can give it the flip with the Plate Flipper ($99.99), a universal license-plate bracket that tilts a plate down 90 degrees at the flip of a switch on the dash. The company that offers the Plate Flipper claims that it’s designed is for off-roading only and is not for use while driving, so you probably don’t want to flip off a cop. [attachmentid=12541]
And why wouldn't you? because you cut someone off and he has a gun? or you're running away from someone after a bar fight? Just curious that's all. not sure how flipping down while off-roading is needed. If anything, I want my plate against the car so it doesn't get broken off by some branch.
Off roading? C'mon, it's for avoiding tickets and tolls by evading the cameras. No tickee, no watchee.

Its true, its for running toll booths & from cops... If your on a bike and your tag is obscured and you run? when/if your caught the state confiscates your bike...
Why would anyone care whether their license plate is readable while off-roading? Unless they are off-roading where it's illegal to do so. This looks like a product marketed for bank-robbers and kidnappers. "Hey, get the license plate of that car! Oops, they just flipped their plate!"
