    My wife and I are very excited to start driving our new Prius, but we won't have any idea of when to expect it until Monday the 19th, when our dealer's vehicle locating guy will be able to update us.

    We're looking forward to disabling the reverse/seatbelt beeping, and also driving what promises to be a great automobile. ;)

    Looks like we got extremely lucky! Our '08 Prius should arrive next Monday! Woo hoo!

    Sorry to hear about your waiting time, mabelair; I guess we just got incredibly lucky with the timing of our purchase. I can certainly understand your anticipation. I can't stop thinking about getting ours, too!

    We're disabling it because we can; we consider it a minor annoyance...and because I'm picky that way. :p

    We religiously wear our seatbelts. It's just a natural part of getting into any vehicle, really. Unless disabling the beeps disables the whole "saves your life in the event of an accident" thing, I'm not worried. :lol:

    The best way so is to religiously put on your seatbelts before starting up the car, it will be automaicaly disabled...

    Though I appreciate everyone's concern over the seatbelt beeping (or lack thereof), I'm quite confident in our decision to disable it. Thanks anyway. ;)

    No worries! I ordered just as the 2008 allocations were being made, so I missed the big rush.

    That's fantastic, Mab! I hadn't noticed that our dates were so close together...though ours may be pushed back by a couple of days. <_< We're now being told it could be the 27th until we drive it home.

    Damn you, culture of instant gratification, and all your years of seduction! :lol:

    Well, it seems that the 10-day wait was, in fact, too good to be true.

    Our dealer is now telling us that it "should" be in Calgary "around" the 5th of December. <_<

    Honestly? I'm wishing upon stars and any other ridiculously superstitious item that I'll get "that phone call" soon, trolling these forums, watching as many videos and downloading as many pictures as is humanly possible...which, now that I really think about it, seems more like a form of sadism since the anticipation is killing me! On the bright side, I should be well versed in Prius terminology, grill blocking and tire buying by the time we actually get it. :lol:

    lol.. at least you have more things to read up on than I did.

    I have an 04 Prius manual if you want to get a head start. A few things may be different (can't think of anything off the top of my head) but it should be more or less the same.

    And I have a few other Prius reading/watching material if you want. Just drop me a PM!
