I think this website is amazing- so helpful and also entertaining. Just wondering if the people at Toyota in Japan peruse the myriad postings in this website? Does anyone really know if they do? And if so, do they ever provide answers, maybe incognito?
We think there are folks at Toyota who do read PriusChat. Whether it's policy, or just the occasional person browsing, who knows?
Yeah Toyota does read it. So far only TMS has acknowledged it. Toyota Canada nor TMC have said a word on this site yet.
If they do read it then they have to know that the manual is wrong when it says 3.9 qts of oil is the amount of oil to put in when doing a change.
No we don't! Regards, Fujio Cho Shoichiro Toyoda Katsuaki Watanabe Katsuhiro Nakagawa Tokuichi Uranishi Kazuo Okamoto Kyoji Sasazu Mitsuo Kinoshita Takeshi Uchiyamada Masatami Takimoto Doh!
Priuschat has reached the point that it's hard to avoid when Googling Prius. There are enough Toyota employees who are internet savvy enough that someone somewhere has to have browsed this site. Perhaps they mentioned it to someone else or not. Who knows. However, when you go to the Toyota's HSD site: http://www.toyota.com/vehicles/minisite/hsd/index.html and then click "Explore. . ." and then "what's new" -> "Hybrid Synergy Drive-related sites" Priuschat is the first one listed.
Yep, TMS reads the site, and actually one of the first posts on the Toyota Open Road blog was about PC: http://blog.toyota.com/2007/06/toyotas_open_ro.html
I have doubts if Toyota is interacting with this site. There are many pseudo-facts being circulated here that don't have any factual references to them from Toyota, things like details of the workings of the hybrid system and engine monitoring. Some of the information can be helpful, like how to turn off the reverse beeping etc.
Awesome! Does this mean if we bitch enough about height-adjustable seats that Toyota USA will give it to us?
Sweltering heat and hot dogs. Ah yes, good times indeed. Pictures ==> http://www.chicagopriusgroup.com/images/me.../Grossinger.htm That's Danny and Nichole seated in picture number six.
Only if you say wuou will never buy another Prius until they offer them. Money talks louder than bits.
It might take more than just one person swearing off on the Prius until the seats became adjustable. As you note, money talks louder than bits.
I don't tow. And I don't have the EV button. Nope. I haven't even replaced any of the interior light bulbs in this perfect car! Don't change a thing! I love it!
No. But it means that if enough people bitch about it they may become aware that there are a few Prius geeks who want it. I must be Japanese-size. I find the height of the seats just right. But the climate controls are just plain stupid. Give me old-fashioned turn-knobs for climate control any day!
I suspect other car companies also monitor this site. I wouldn't be surprised if Honda came out with a hybrid Odyssey after reading about how Toyota is too stupid to not have a hybrid minivan for the US market. I'm sure a hybrid Odyssey would sell better than a hybrid Civic.
