Does Prius have a timer?

Are you cooking a TURKEY in that thing?

What cars have a timer?

 

Quite a few do ... my Lexus RX did to tell you how long you had been driving ... my mother's Lincoln Aviator does as well. It will keep a running drive time for you even when you stop and turn off the car ... useful for knowing total drive time w/o stops, etc.

 

GPS units often have such functions. Total time, moving time,
average speeds, etc.

My Prius has a timer. It's actually quite high-tech: it's this thing that's attached to my wrist, and has a few buttons on it so I can keep track of the current time of day, the date and day of the week, check the time in another time zone, and even track intervals between arbitrary events by pressing "start/stop," so it's not just limited to tracking driving time!

Not only that, but here's the really cool part: when I get out of the Prius, it goes with me! I can use it to time other things too!!

And our "high-tech"device attached to wrist has an altimeter also- wish the Prius had one...lat and longitude but no altitude...

I've never driven a car with a timer. That should tell you I don't run with the luxury car set.

I know what you're talking about OP, its the ignition timer, my Audi A4 had it my mothers Stratus had it and my Boyfriends 08 Lancer has it (I think), It would be nice to have one on the Prius, On the cars that I have seen...The timer would flash at 2 hours to let you know to get out and stretch and let the car rest. On the A4 I think it was there to have you stop and let the Turbo cool down.

 

If you look at the models listed of the cars which have this feature, I'm sure you'll start to get the picture. What you're referring to is a full-blown cruise-computer. Many of the luxury car lines have them, but few of the lower-end vehicles do.

Let the turbo cool down? You can't be serious. The turbo is in operating temperature maybe 10-15 minutes after you start driving the car. So the timer shouldn't be longer than 15 minutes to let the turbo cool.
Not only that, all modern turboed cars have their turbo bearings water cooled, so the oil won't get cooked by the turbo and it won't cook after you shutoff the car.

The stretching part I can someone relate, even tho I've never seen that kind of timer before on the Audi A4's, MB's and Bimmers I drove before.

Sounds very odd.
