I remember reading somewhere a few years ago that Japanese vehicle color palattes are influenced by the trending data of coffin purchases, which would explain the subdued nature of the choices. If you want your color to really stand out from the crowd, the only choice is an aftermarket paint job. After all, if everyone chose yellow from the dealership, it wouldn't be an eye-catching color anymore....
I've seen a few really nice shades of purple, an awesome neon lime green, and some stunning bright blues on the roads (of course, those were on sports cars). I'd love to see them on the Prius too. But the Seaside blue (oh WHY can't it come with the grey interior?!?!?!), silver, and salsa are lovely colors to choose from. My biggest beef is that by wanting the grey interior I am pretty limited in the exterior color choices. Oh well.... just give me the car ASAP! *gives big pleading eyes to the dealer*
LOL, which part of that thought? The insanely bright colors on a Prius? LOL. I don't know, it was just a funky thought. Don't worry, you will probably never see a Prius in those colors. *pats your shoulder* ...unless I get a job at Toyota and make some changes to the paint scheme...just because it'll upset you! BWA-HAHAHAHA!!!! :twistedevil:
nooooo the funeral color thingy is what i was refering too.. you snuck your post in (out of turn i do believe) while i was writing mine...
Oh, hehe. Well ladies are supposed to go first in most curcumstances, right? And here I was getting ready to add a raz in there about your suggestion of pink (eew!). Seems my fingers are quicker on the keyboard than yours... Um yeah, the funeral color thing is pretty gross... just eew.... *shudder*
actually i have been kicking around the idea of a paint job. i have a friend that works at Tacoma auto body who can get me a pretty good deal. but i am gonna wait till i get a few more door dings and stuff first... hmmm scary thought actually. seems like i could find something better than door dings to look forward to...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(ml194152\";p=\"52886)</div> True. As long as it's black, it's gooooo-od. 8) Only a nice, mystical slightly purple or green pearl black would be better.
According to my daughter, the graphic designer, the color pallets are put together by a very complex process that involves may different factors that include the pallets of not only cars but paint colors, fabrics, etc. Then "they" name them. This is done more than a year in advance. Way beyond me. Colors are a frequency right?
I want the dark blue that's available in Japan Why must we be deprived of that colour just when other Toyotas are introducing that colour (and the Classic had it too)
Maybe we're not special? OH! I know! It's a conspiracy! They want to see how long before we start clamouring for other colors (like that dark blue)!
I want a color-changing Prius. Look at it from one angle and see blue, look from another angle and see purple (or whatever color strikes your fancy). That would be sweet.
Star.. it's a Dupont paint that does that... last time I talked to a guy with a custom paint job like that, I was told it was about $800 a gallon.. Bob Andersen
Whoa.... and dare I ask how many gallons would be needed on a Prius? Still, it is a custom thing, so one would expect to pay more for such a paint job. However, my pocketbook hurts at the thought, nonetheless.
LOL! That's what my boss keeps saying (would be very nice to find, but I don't seek out only that when looking). Are you volunteering? *sniff sniff* ....Mmmm, I smell pea soup in another thread (or is that coming from your kitchen?)....
Star.. there is always pea soup in the kitchen... our welcome mat says' Soup's On... As for the sugar daddy... I'm well kept, sorry....haha Bob Andersen
