I have a 2006 Prius with 47 000km on it. Just wondering if anyone experiences the following: When I first get going (i.e. going out of driveway, parking lot) and am driving at under 10km/hr, sometimes I don't even have my foot on the gas pedal, the gasoline engine comes on very obviously and runs high — energy monitor shows numbers in the 20's...30s... plus with the windows rolled down or from outside the car, the gasoline engine sounds quite loud and somewhat sputters. This happens whether the engine is "cold" or has been driven for hours. Also When I come to a full stop (i.e. red light stop): most often the gasoline engine kicks in/stays on as I slow down and come to a full stop. When I am fully stopped the gasoline engine seems to be running high, the energy monitor reads up to 99.9 where it stays for a little bit before either shuddering or very obviously switching to electric motor. This happens whether the engine is "cold" or has been driven for hours.
