My Dad reported that his Prius has started beeping once every 5 minutes. There is no indication on the dashboard or the MFD. My guess was that this is the warning the Prius makes if the battery in your keyfob is low. I suggested that he try the other fob, and the car did the same thing. It's possible that both fobs have nearly dead batteries, but it seems unlikely. Anyone else experience this phenomenon? He's planning on asking the dealership to look at it, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't something simple. I also told him how to open the fob so that he can try replacing the battery.
My kitchen does that all the time. It means the dishes are clean, or the smoke detector's battery needs changing. Sorry, I couldn't resist.
if it was the keyfob there shouldnt there been a yellow light on the dash with the exclamation point on it? all the lights light up when you run out of gas and half the mfd is missing and if it was the door, the door light would of light up on the dash its a total mystery to me
If he has 06 or newer, it might be low fuel warning. "Add Fuel" message display on the LCD screen and a beep about every 5 mins.

It ended up that it wasn't the car but rather the cellphone in the center console. However, I am still curious what happens when the fob battery is low. There is supposed to be some indication because one of the customizable options is to turn that warning off.

When I touched the door to lock it, it began beeping strangely, I thought. Took my son and I a minute to figure out that it was the bar code reader in the store (door was open.)
Hi all, I was getting a beep every 5 minutes for days. We went to Walgreens and replaced our fob batteries and the beep still was going every 5 minutes. I saw that "patsparks" said the cell phone was in the center console. We rarely use our flip phone and I checked it out and it was on. So thankful to see to make sure our flip phone was the problem causing the beep every 5 minutes.
