Is it me or is there really a new color blue? [attachmentid=12301] Did this replace a color that was offered for 07 or is it new entirely? If nothing goes right with my Super White I think I might just have my self a new Spectra Blue Mica Prius. B)
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(TomorrowMatters @ Nov 2 2007, 05:38 PM) </div> Yes it's a brand new color. It doesn't replace the other shade of blue, both are offered. I have seen the new Spectra Blue Mica and it's my favorite Prius color. I would like to see a Prius in British Racing Green like the old Jaguar E-Type, I think it would look very classy. T B)
It's MY favorite Prius color too!.......because I own one. I've had it 5 weeks, and I love the car and the color. I know more about this car (thank you everyone) than I have ever known about any other car. It's so much fun to drive I don't even mind driving my teenagers all over town. (And they don't mind being seen in it-much cooler than a minivan!).
Is this the blue that's been available in Japan? Yeah, British Racing green would be nice - you'd think a 'green' car would come in several shades of green. Yellow's out, I'd say, at least as a factory colour, unless it goes straight to the taxi companies.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(hyo silver @ Nov 3 2007, 01:16 PM) </div> In markets where taxis are not yellow I think a yellow Prius would do well. It would appeal to the safety set and young people. I thinnk BRG is a very hard colour to see in poor light, worse than red, dark grey and black. The dark blue is called Galaxy Blue (Mica) here in Australia. The only 2 colours that are no extra cost options here is Ebony and Glacia White as they are the only non metalic or mica colours.
Yes, Spectra Blue Mica is a new color for 2008. I have attached a picture of my car. [attachmentid=12305]
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(TerryStl @ Nov 2 2007, 06:57 PM) </div> I agree completley. Recently sold my BRG E-type Just was not using the car enough. GREAT color. Carl PS. This new blue is beautiful
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(malibucarl @ Nov 3 2007, 10:03 AM) </div> In "Build and Price" I think it comes up as an option for the Touring, but not for the regular version. The same is true of the Barcelona Red and maybe one or two others, at least when entering the configurator with zip code 95014. This had led me to think that buying the Touring was the only way to get the red, but on visiting the dealer they couldn't obtain a red Touring easily but happened to have a regular red one just off the boat. In fact today I look at Build and Price and the red doesn't show up as an option for *either* model! So basically you should ignore the options it gives you on the web site in the configurator. Look at the http://www.toyota.com/prius/color.html page to see all the colors and ask the dealer if they can get what you want. Z.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Blue Hoosier @ Nov 3 2007, 10:24 AM) </div> thats a really nice deep blue, I think if they keep screwing my car up I will definately get the touring in this color!!
When friends of ours ordered a blue Prius, they said: "It's not that blue its another blue." We figured Toyota must have added a colour. This darker blue is a big improvement (imho) over the original pastel blue. But I would really like to see a very very dark blue (like Audi's Moro Blue). We own a black Prius, but I also like the new dark gray. Toyota must be aware of regional colour favorites. I certainly notice it in Southern California. Los Angeles - Black cars, Irvine/Tustin area - White cars. What seems to be the most common car colour in your area?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Blue Hoosier @ Nov 4 2007, 05:24 AM) </div> You guys! Spectra Blue Mica is not new for everybody. Here's my 2004! [attachmentid=12317]
