Hi There, I am new to this forum ...
We bought our 2007 Prius a few months ago and really enjoing it. I read somewhere that Prius batteries can get discharged completely if car is standing idle (not active at all) for a long period of time. I am planning to take a week long vacations and am worried that car may get completely discharged. If it happens then I may have to take the car back to my dealer for re-charging. Is that true and is there any way to get around with this problem.

    Thanks,

    DrZ

    Nothing to worry about.
The HV battery will hold a charge for around 6 months.
The small 12v battery is usually good for 2-3 week...be sure to turn off the SKS when you'll be away to help preserve the life of the 12v though.

And if the 12v battery is run down, you can get a conventional jump start to get going again. Only a discharged HV battery requires a visit to the dealer.
