Ok, I'm new to this, but don't mind the work. I'm in So. Cal. I've been looking for any type of hack to use the touch screen of my Prius, think Tablet PC. My eventual goal is to use the screen as like Tablet PC. Long term goal is to be able to use a combination of the Prius's GPS integrated with Google Maps, with traffic enabled. Remember I live in So. Cal, and traffic is a real B---ch. Currently I gotta whip out my Treo, let it connect to the Google Maps app on my phone, wait for the traffic to load, and if I have zoom, pan, etc... wait for it to load again..... Hey, I just wanna fire up my car, and have it all there. Also integration with the cars audio from a PC would be nice, Winamp sounds WAAAAAY better through real speakers, the sound emulation is perfect. Anyways, just an FNG looking for hints, hacks, etc... Gracias!!!

I think you will have 2 main issues: 1. No one has to my knowledge gotten a robust interface to the '06-'08 MFD display. The input changed from a simple analog RGBS to a digital GVIF between '05 and '06. 2. I can't think off hand of anyway to make the PC overlay traffic data w/ the built in GPS. You would need a dedicated ap on the PC that does GPS, mapping, and overlays the traffic data. The closest things to date have probably been: For an '04-05 on built in display: http://www.kusnetz.net/prius/ For an '06-'08 with added display: http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=28275&st=20 For the status of the efforts to talk to the new built in displays check these threads; http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=25901&hl=GVIF http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=27375&hl=GVIF Rob
