Hello all This represents my version of the obligatory 'I just bought a Prius' post Umm.. it's shiny, and green, and all high-tech, and... umm.. well. I'd just like to thank PriusChat collectively for all the many hours I spent lurking and finding answers to all my questions before I decided to buy my very own Hybrid. The audio / electrical section in particular. In the end, I like to believe I chose prius because: no clutch pedal .. but more fuel economy than an automatic ... especially in stop-start traffic And even lower fuel bill potential than my previous car (1.6L toyota corolla) it's green and shiny, (but I might have mentioned that?) absolutely silent pedestrian stalking in car parks Take care, and safe driving!
Congratulations and welcome to PC. How about some pics of your new "green and shiny" Prius? I think most of us lurk before jumping in. Glad you posted. Have fun driving your green machine.
Hello Everyone! Bought my 2004 Silver baby just one week ago, & signed up as a PriusChat member immediately. This group is very helpful, and Troy has been great re what to do about an extended warranty, at 37,000 miles, I'm SOL for the $990 deal . Haven't gassed up as yet, but I now know what NOT to do re fuel, oil, etc. Elzbeth Key West, FL
Welcome Duc and Elzbeth. Since you've been lurking you know a thing or two already. We're here to help you along, first peruse the existing threads using search feature for common operating questions. We all learn from those unusual situations which come up, so ask away.
Welcome both of you to PriusChat! Sitting Duc, be careful now lol. People do tend to walk in front of our cars and stalking might get addictive.

If you need help finding our secret page and learning that handshake thing, let me know.
Alright, eventually found enough bits to actually upload photos (I have the camera, but left the USB cable at work!). I did take photos at the dealers; thinking as well as show-off potential, they might help with Insurance isms. Unfortunately, looking at them, the lighting was terrible I will have to find some good light and try to get a better set of pictures. Car buying trip... Before [attachmentid=12058] After [attachmentid=12057] [attachmentid=12059] Did I mention shiny? The keen-eyed might notice a small blue corolla also sneaks into the last one. I decided to leave it behind, as I no longer needed it. It had been a faithful companion for many years, but now I have my new toy. I think the real challenge with stalking will be to not hit anyone.. After all, not only would blood totally not go with Silver Pine Mica, but it'd be impossible to clean off the bumper! Take care and keep safe!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Sitting Duc @ Oct 16 2007, 03:33 AM) [snapback]526244[/snapback]</div> The bumper isn't the only thing that would be tarnished. Enjoy the shiny new ride in the best color available today in the best car made.
