I know it's a bit tacky to be asking this, but the discounted warranty offer sounds too good to be true. Has anyone bought it and actually USED it? Was there any problem having it recognized and accepted by another Toyota dealership? (I can't help being suspicious; I live in LA.)
It's real. Likely no one has used it yet, since it kicks in at 3 years, 36000 miles, then something has to go wrong. The extended warranty has a lot of markup in it. These dealers are just cutting it tight because it's a sale they would otherwise not get. If you truly are worried, call Toyota at 1-800-331-4331 and ask if: -you can buy your Toyota ExtraCare warranty at any dealer of your choosing -you can pay less than the MSRP for the warranty -you can purchase the warranty at a later date than the purchase of the vehicle I can answer all of these questions for you, however: yes, yes, yes. So it is the regular extended warranty being sold by one Toyota dealership hoping to make up in volume what they're losing in the mark-up?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(ggalanti\";p=\"51903)</div> Probably a little of that and a little of trying to give folks a fair shake on the dramatically marked up price (nearly 90%!)
