Anyone have any experience with bluetooth pairing in Prius 2007. I have had a Treo 650 and it paired perfectly. Upgraded to Treo 755p and phone sees car, but car does not see phone. Any ideas???

    Thanks

Have you checked to see if the Treo is set for bluetooth discovery mode? Some devices default to being hidden, so when I'm pairing I make sure both devices are set for discovery.

And you probably know this, but you have to tell the Prius about the presence of the new phone. The Prius gives each phone the same default name when you set up, so you would want to give it a new name, and a different passkey.

I have also had problems pairing this device. The Prius isn't detecting it, although the Treo has detected the Prius. I'm bummed because for the last two years I've had a lot of use out of my Razr and Prius. I'm considering returning the Treo for this reason alone.

I was hoping to find some more answers here (like a software update for the Prius that would help it with some of the newer phones).

    Good luck!

I got my Treo 755p to work with the info from this link.

    drrburns,

I am looking for a cell phone to work with the Bluetooth on a new 2007/2008 Prius. The following information is what I found:

    Go to Toyota.com
    Hit the car button
    Hit the Prius button
    Hit the Options button
Hit the (blue) Bluetooth 7 on one of the packages.
Down the page a bit see the "toyoto.letstalk.com" - hit it
Put in your information for Brand and Carrier name
Punch button and choose either w/Navigation or w/o Navigation
Next screen put in brand and carrier again and enter

This should tell you all the telephones which would be acceptable to the Bluetooth on the Prius. By the way, you can print this information. Also, if you hit the telephone you are interested in, you will find information on how to pair the phone with the Bluetooth.

    Hope this helps.

In response to the original poster's title for the thread, I can report that the BlackBerry 8800 pairs beautifully with the Prius.

Just make sure that you go into the BlackBerry bluetooth options and tell it that the Prius is a "Trusted Device" and to automatically accept connections from it.

I also successfully paired by Dad's RAZR with his Prius, and whatever LG phone it is that my Mom has (sorry, don't remember the model # but it is whatever the most recent Verizon LG offering is).

Were you able to transfer your phonebook data from the BB 8800? If so, how?

For those Virgin Mobile fans, I recently bought a Super Slice (UTStarcom PCS-1450) and it paired perfectly with my 2007 package #3. I didn't have a phone book to sync but the connection has worked flawlessly.

If it will do the phone book sync, let us know.

I also had a 650 and upgraded to the 755. I did the change yesterday and it was a little confusing. First, you need to delete the 650 from the phone list. Then go through the routine to autoconnect the phone and the Prius. At this point, after entering the passkey (1111) into the 755, the Prius system appears to hang. However, simply wait for 2-3 minutes and exit the screen on the MFD. At this point, as long as the Treo states it made the connection, your 755 should show in the list of telephones on the MFD and you are good to go.
