I'm planning on purchasing the Coastal Tech receiver hitch to be able to mount a cargo rack for longer trips (with volumes of baby "supplies"). CoastalTech offers a hitch mount cargo rack that has increased ground clearance, but it's small (20x36) and somewhat pricey. They also offer a DrawTite rack which is larger (20x48) but has less ground clearance. Looking for other racks online gives me a lot of ever larger but even lower (appearing) choices designed for the SUV crowd (since there is so little room in those vehicles). Does anyone have experience using any of these? The DrawTite rack looks to be my best option, but I'm concerned about ground clearance. Thanks.
Someone posted here on the subject last summer was using it for a powered wheel chair. You might to a search or just hang around for them to find your thread.
 [font=Comic Sans MS:bb42a7f08e] [/font:bb42a7f08e] </span><span style=\'color:blue\'> I stopped by a local "rack" dealer hoping to see the Draw Tite system but they only had a Thule for $500. I ask why they didn't have the Draw Tite cargo system and better support from Thule was the response although I think higher profit margin was the real answer. JC Whitney carries some hitch mounted cargo boxes but after shipping costs their slightly lower price might end up higher than if you purchase locally. I like the looks of the Draw Tite / Reese DPS system but don't know that I want to store the storage box when a collapsible one would be easier to stash when not in use.
