FOR SALE: 2007 Toyota Prius - Amp'd Up Edition - $38,000 OBO Classic Silver Metallic Option Package # 6 (Fully loaded) Grey Leather Interior Original MSRP: $29,544 Miles: Only 7,000 (Original miles with original owner) I bought this vehicle new in March 2007 in order to have use of the new Arizona law that allows single-occupant HOV access, as I had about an hour drive to work. I now have telecommute flexibilty and work from home instead of the office. Therefore I no longer use the HOV lanes and it is with great regret that I must find a proud new owner for my special Prius. For over 6 months I have been modifiying and customizing my Prius to make it one-of-a-kind. It surely is now! I have invested over $46,000 in this vehicle with modifications. A modification project like this takes a ton of time, research and money. Most of these modification parts are expensive and hard to find, but they are original JDM parts which take 8-12 weeks to receive from Japan. You can't find these parts in the USA. This Prius is like no other in the USA or perhaps around the world. It is an eye-catcher with SEMA show quality, yet it still gets 45+MPG. This car is in perfect condition. I treated my Prius like my own baby. Full OEM Toyota warranty is applicable. Please see attached pictures. As you can see, I have been a Prius enthusiatist. I am now looking for another Prius enthusiast to take care of this ride and give her a good home with lots of attention. If you are a serious buyer, I offer this special vehicle for $38,000 OBO. Please contact me at [email protected] or cell 602-999-8850. I have additional photos I can send you. The vehicle is located in Phoenix, Arizona. Thank you. After such an investment and customization...why get rid of the car? Surely you occasionally have to drive somewhere.
Wow.. very tastefully done! Although the rear has the same number of emblems as I do (I have the VVT-i emblem below the Toyota badge), I think tacking on the Euro R emblem is a bit.. rice. Otherwise, yeah like I said, it's quite well done!
What makes this prius 10k over MSRP brand new? There really isnt anything major done to it other than the suspension. The wheels were $1500 maybe. Everything is just simple project bolt on accessories. I'm not downing your prius at all, I think its look great! I just dont see why you think you're going to get $15000 over what your prius is worth now. How did you possibly spend $46k on bolt on accessories?
I think his $46k number includes the cost of the Prius...almost $30k. So $16k in accessories/mods. Still a hell of a lot IMO, but I don't have any reason not to believe him. If you look at the cost of those various panels and suspension parts, plus the stereo and such you're going to start approaching $10k pretty quickly. I suppose there are a few people out there willing to pay over MSRP for a car moded this way, but I just don't think there's a big audience willing to do so. Maybe a Enviro-conscious Hip Hop star or a movie star with more expendable income than they know what to do with.
I think this guy has been hitting the crack pipe a little too much. It may be a nice car with some modifications, but his price is crazy with 7K miles on it.
I think the problem is that the person this car would appeal to is also a person that would prefer to do all of the modifications themselves. Everyone else just figures they can get a new car for a lot less money. My personal feelins it that I don't want to give up the little side storage areas that were sacrificed for speaker location in this car. The wheels and body work are nice, but don't really mean much to me. So I'm in the "I can buy a new car for less than that" crowd.
I, too, am glad you found a home for it. I saw this car advertised elsewhere a while back. Gosh, a "S Edition Turbo R TRD IS Sport Prius" with the "TOM'S F1 Racing Team VVT-i Special Edition" inverter... You know, Engelbert Humperdinck did okay...so why not this car? [laughing] Only thing that concerns me is, that the weight of the emblems might reduce the mileage!
