I see several forums devoted to turning off the reverse beep. That one doesn't bother me. In fact I'm glad it's there. but I would like to turn off the beeps that pop up when I switch from the view that shows the power flow to the screen that shows energy use, or the screen for the audio settings, or to any other screen. Every time I switch a screen, BEEP
    Now that's annoying.
    Thanks if you can help

I don't know about the '05 Prius, but in my '07, on the screen that pops up when you press the INFO button, there is a touch-button for turning off the MFD beeps.

I'll defer to others more knowledgeable on the '05s if that option isn't there. :)

Same with the 2006: info screen, beep off.

I have a 2007 Prius. One of the first things we did was turn off those beeps. Played with the color a few times too, then put that back. Thought about finding a way to turn off the back-up beeps, but found that it doesn't really bother me that much.

The '04 and '05 models come with the added feature of not being able to turn those beeps off. It's a value added feature, really. When you think of all those poor schmucks who are pressing virtual buttons on a screen with no sense of biofeedback.

Pity those who have no beep. They are the ones missing out.

(you can't turn it off on the '04 and '05)

Thanks for the contributions, folks. So my 2005 Prius won't let me turn off the beeps and that's a "feature"? OK. I'll close out with a joke: Most people call little glitches in their computer software "bugs." To a programmer, those are "features"!!!!!
    :)

Being a programmer, the proper term is "undocumented features"! :p

If there were only some voodoo chant that would cause the '04-'05 beep designer to experience the sensation of a needle stab behind his right eyeball :D many here would call the score even. hehe. It's my spouse that gets the eyeball stab sensation when hearing the beep too often, but she's too civil to think the revenge thing.

I always heard them referred to as 'undocumented enhancements'.
