I searched, but was unable to find an answer to this. I just picked up my Prius yesterday, the dealer had put Sirius in it. I notice that the text is truncated to 10 characters. Ugh. Is there a way to fix this? Dip switches or something?

A company called Vais is working on an interface ("SLS") that will give you 16 characters, but I don't know when they have availability. I've heard that the newer XM tuners do get 16 already. Short answer.....no, no dip switches, firmware flashes, etc. that will do what you want. Give it time, it will become even more annoying than it is right now.

The Prius is designed to only display 10 characters. That said, it is capable of displaying ALOT more, but the computer is set to limit it.
If that's the case, then why is the cars computer capable of displaying upwards of 32 characters per line times 2 lines when displaying data off CD encoded with CD text and/or MP3 burned CD's? I only mention it because I've observed this myself in my 06 non-JBL Prius.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(syclone @ Sep 26 2007, 09:35 AM) </div> I have it and it works well, but a little expensive for just the additional 6 characters--but definitely less truncation and therefore less annoying.
