Hey gang. First I'd like to say thanks and it looks like a real nice group you have here. I belong to a similar forum for Rickenbacker guitar enthusiats so I know how cool it can be. I'm thinking about buying a Prius real soon, before the tax credit goes down. I've wanted one for a while, and when I found out about that, I figured what better time to take the plunge, right? I found a local dealer with 2 in stock (A-way of Pinellas Park). I read on another thread that $500 off list was a good price. Can I expect to pay that, or more, or less? Thanks everybody, I look forward to making a good purchase and being a regular posting member. Cheers, J Dog aka Rick12Player
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rick12Player @ Sep 20 2007, 12:59 PM) </div> Welcome! I'm new here as well, so you'll probably get more informed answers from others. In my area (Southern IN), dealers are expecting MSRP or pretty close and it's hard to find one on the lot.
Contact all your local dealers through their websites, tell them exactly what you need and ask them for quotes. You should get at least $500 off MSRP, though I've heard from a few people on this forum that FL doesn't have as much Priuses to offer as the West Coast.
Welcome to the forums Rick! I too and a soon-to-be Prius owner, and this forum has been invaluable! MAB
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rick12Player @ Sep 20 2007, 12:59 PM) </div> You don't mention which package you're looking to buy. From my experience the higher packages tend to get a better discount. As an example this May when I bought my 2007 package 5 in Buffalo, I got $1K off MSRP and that was after a $2K Eco rebate from Toyota. As part of my Internet sourcing I came across a dealer in Fla that had access to a lot of Prius' (based on inventory listed on their web-site): Earl Stewart Toyota: http://www.earlstewarttoyota.com/ Other than a nice article about them (posted on their site) and responding to me promtly I can't vouch for them, but you may find it worthwile to check them out. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rick12Player @ Sep 20 2007, 09:59 AM) </div> You can find Invoice and MSRP at under auto at msn.com, yahoo.com Edmunds.com etc... Read this thread: url http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=2...mp;#entry515442
I’ve been trying to buy a package #2 in the Seattle area this week. Inventories seem low and the dealers seem to want $500 under MSRP. Anyone got ideas? I might just wait until after the tax credit goes away…….
Thanks everyone. You all are like 67 different shades of awesome. I'll check out those links. Lake Park is a little far though, about a... hmmm... 4 hour drive I think. But thanks, and I'll keep you all posted. btw - I'm looking at #2 just cause it's cheapest. It's probably this or a Scion. Cheers, J Dog EDIT - PS btw all the locals I called want MSRP. One dealer offered to throw in tint and something else piddly, I can't remember.
Rick, I'm meeting with the internet sales manager at one of the local dealers here later today. I'll let you know how it goes. Not exactly around the corner from you but not too far either, near Sarasota. Mark
