I've just taken the plunge and ordered a Prius - delivery has been suggested end of March 2005, so I hope it's worth the wait!

It's a top of the range T-Spirit specification here in the UK - satellite navigation, Bluetooth etc etc all for the princely sum of £21,300 or US $40,063.68 at today's exchange rate...

Here's hoping that when it eventally arrives the 2005 model has HID headlights, LED rear brake lights and a Smart Key!

The Prius already has LED brake lights. It's the parking light, reverse light and indicators that are conventional bulbs

... not in the UK! Only the centre mounted stop-light is LED. Check-out
www.toyota.co.uk and you'll see what we don't get for the money!

I cant see anything either way. Can you point toexactly where you found out thet there are no led break lights? AFAIK its standard accross the board. The (german) tech ref doesnt say the LED breaks are non UK only...

ACK! You Brits are a tough lot. I don't think I would have purchased my Prius if it cost that much. In fact I KNOW I wouldn't. Way out of my league.

Don't forget that ALL cars cost more in the UK, not to mention the rest of Europe. The new car TAX in Finland for example is around 100% !!! That's not a typo! This is done to encourage public transportation and provide funding for road works. However if you want to buy a car in Finland tax-free (many Russians do this) you can get a good deal, as the manufactures, lower the base price to accommodate the tax rate.

OOPS! you may be correct. I have to admit I'm looking at the brochure and the rear lights are not at all clear. I will visit the dealer to tomorrow and check-out exactly what I'm buying!!!!!!!

Check the 'tinted' area on either side of the lower rear window. That's where you'll find the (6?) LED bulbs on each side that act as the brake lights. The regular rear red light is using the conventional bulb
