    That mileage distribution is pretty normal, statistically speaking, though slightly bimodal.

    Martin: the º - as in ºF - is [alt]+[0186] and I use it all the time.

    One month shy of 3 years and at 56,000 miles. Daily commute is 37 miles RT. And then there's these darn road trips........

    At the two year mark in August 07, we had 67K miles on the car.

    67K divided by 24 months equals 2,791 miles average per month.

    Car runs great. Getting ready to change fluids and replace PCV valve.

    68K miles and running on Mobil One and Costco cheap-nice person gas.

    Yes, it does have a double-hump (I assume that's what bimodal means), and it's been persistant as people have voted. The peak at 10-15K/yr drivers follow I believe the national average, but then we apparently have another bump of long-mileage drivers, probably because the nature of the car appeals to people who commute farther.

    For degrees, I just use the tick (') sign, like today it'll reach 65'F (great day for biking!). Faster to type, looks close enough but not as correct, and totally falls apart if I start using it for degrees lat/long, since that's also the mark for minutes of a degree.

    I do believe it has been noted that we on PC tend more towards the geek than the gear head end of the spectrum. B) There ARE occasional disruptions to this pattern.

    And it's not quite so easy to do the ASCII direct input on most laptops--adding the function key into the equation makes it a tad more difficult!

    As to the original question, pre-Pri, if I did even 5k/year, it was remarkable. Since I got the Pri (May 10, 2006), as of today, I have just a hair under 27k on it (that's with two cross country roundtrips...never did even one before, and wouldn't have done any since, but it all seemed suddenly POSSIBLE with the GPS--not built-in--laptop w/WiFi, cell phone, etc., etc., etc, without which I couldn't have done it solo, which I did eastbound once and westbound the other time--DH and son did one direction, and DH & I did one other--and PC friends en route were FANTASTIC along the way ...I'm pretty sure that's more than I've driven in total since I got my license in 1976.

    If I got the Pri to save gas, I'd have to say I'm a total failure.

    I have a 60 mile round trip commute every day :( (15,600 + miles per year) which is why I bought the Prius, but I love driving it so that makes the trip more tolerable. :D

    As I've come up on one year since the purchase of my Prius, I've been thinking back to this poll from September and trying to remember what my estimate was and how accurate I was.

    I searched through my old posts to find this old thread and, as it turns out, I seem to have underestimated. My actual annual miles at the end of my first year: 33,384
