Don't even get me started on the whole biodiesel vs conventional fuel thing... It's the same nonsensical argument as the one claiming Hybrids polute more than any other car. With a little deception, some smoke and mirrors a scientist can prove any theory, including that biodiesel is more poluting than gasoline or that the Prius is more harsh on the environemnt in the long run than an SUV. Even if biodiesel is a major polutant (which it is not), diesel vehicles (including H1s) with innexpensive conversions can run on veggie oil and no one can argue that any vehicle running on veggie oil is cleaner than a Prius. I OWN a Prius and I LOVE it, I'm just not blinded by it. P.S. Laurie David, one of the World's top environmentalists and Prius owner is also the biggest promoter for Biodiesel in the States. I can't wait till the "Biodiesel Plug-in Prius" comes on the market ;-) probably never, but I can dream...
Some horribly evil, skewed, "nonsensical" sources: If you ask me, what's silly is suggesting that a Hummer is "less polluting" than a Prius, biodeisel or not. By the way, is your last name Spinella, first name Art? On a side note: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=118788

They are just cars, people. Life is too short to spend it caring what other's drive. You like a Hummer? Cool, knock your socks off. If any chatters believe that the gov'ment should control these or any type/subtype of vehicle, then legislation (like the CART standard) is the way to go. As for me, I'll let the free market deal with the issue. Little Artie

i don't like hummers because f i ever got into a car accident with one.. well, i bet the hummer would win. same reason i don't like other massive suv's.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Christina @ Sep 12 2007, 02:06 AM) </div> haha, that's funny, because it's true; I've actually a video (from my home surveillance) which shows what happens when a big truck slams into my H1 when I was pulling out of my driveway. His hood was bent, radiator leaking, engine couldn't start and many other issues, the H1 got an inch long crack in the paint and I really did not feel the impact, I only heard it and saw it... In any other vehicle I would have been seriously injured and the car demolished. Anyway, I'm not advocating owning H1s, I'm just sharing an interesting experience. And to the Biodiesel "haters" I guess the Brazilians and Europeans are really dumb to think Biodiesel is a good fuel alternative. Those Germans, same ones who create some of the world's finest cars, medicines, electronics, etc must be real idiots, now being the biggest consumers of Biodiesel in Europe. Morons, I tell ya, those Germans! Same with Laurie David and Al Gore - a couple of dummies who think Biodiesel is a good alternative to conventional fuel. OK, sarcasm mode off. And thanks for providing a link to that article, I absolutely agree: "The previously opposed hybrid-versus-diesel camps seem to realize that combining the technologies is the fastest route to fuel-efficient vehicles with existing technologies and fuels."..."All three companies produced diesel-electric hybrids in pursuit of an 80 mpg family sedan. A Prius with a diesel engine would closely resemble those concept vehicles, both in appearance and fuel economy."

I hate them because they are impossible to see around due to the straight up sides, they are dog ugly and stupid unless you need one to fight a war. They are military hardware that has no place on public roads. They are stupid off road as they are too wide for most off road trails therefore causing massive damage to the environment. People would only buy a H1 if they feel inadequate or they are a military organisation. Anyone knows the most capable military vehicle is a Toyota Hilux Ute, you see them on the news all the time giving the US military machine grief. (These comments should not be seen as anti US military just my observations) Can you name one thing the H1 does better than a Landcruiser or Hilux? (apart from make the driver look like a ostentatious wanker) By the way I don't hate them I just dislike them a lot when I come across one on the road which thankfully is hardly ever. (thank god)

Because it symbolizes the stereotypically fat dumb and happy 'Merkin. Surely you knew that when you bought yours? But points for using all bioDiesel; today's bioDiesel made from waste oils is acceptable, so put a big "bioDiesel" bumpersticker on yours to neutralize some of the ill will. Of course we can't run the world on it...

I don't exactly hate Hummers, or any other car for that matter, but I think they are silly. They are of no practical purpose to the vast majority of drivers, but then again, neither is any other huge SUV... or most sports cars. They suck a lot of gas for nothing. I can't comprehend why anybody would want one, and most people who drive such monsters can't park them worth a damn. I think that most Hummer drivers have more dollars than sense. I do really dislike having any SUV or jacked-up pickup truck parked next to me, though; it is dangerous because I can't see a thing. I just crawl out very slowly until I can see, and hope nobody smacks into me... not fun at all.

As we say in court, you're presuming facts not entered into evidence. They're not hated, certainly not by many. They're like prostitutes. Some love em a lot, some love em less, & some are disgusted. But hate's too strong a word.
