2008 prius information

I've been told that deliveries will start toward the end of September into the first part of October

I ordered a 2008 2 weeks ago. At the time, the dealer (in Chicago) didn't have hard price or schedule info on the 2008s. They got that info within the last week sometime and called me on Monday morning (8/27). My car is now allocated for delivery the 3rd week of September (give or take) and the price is up $150 from the 2007 version of the same car, which is consistent with the pricing announcement Toyota made at the end of July.

Mine is an NR (Touring package 6) which, as far as I can tell, is identical to a 2007 NR, in terms of options. Everything I've heard is that, except for the new stripped-down model, options and packages are unchanged. (The $150 price bump on mine went to the base price--no change for the option package.) But until the Prius section of Toyota's US Web site flips to showing 2008 info (any day now, one would expect), we don't know for sure.

Toyota's July 30 press release said specifically that dealers would start receiving '08 Priuses in August. I gotta believe they plan to have '08 model info up on their site by the end of the month, which is Friday. As for your dealer, my sense is that dealers really don't know what they're getting from Toyota until it shows up on their allocation sheets. Hang in there. We'll probably know everything very soon.

What date did they give you? Which dealer did you order from? We ordered ours from Champion I think the first or second week of August. We called Monday and they told us the 1st of October..Also a package 6 Touring..

I ordered my '08 Seaside Pearl w/ #2 package on Sat. the 8th. Dealer called today, said car was at port today and might actually be here on Saturday the 14th, but probably not any later that Wed the 19th. I'm just up the road from you in DFW.

Yeah same here with Bastrop..Live in Bastrop, and work in Austin. I put both where room permits but usually just put Austin..Everyone knows where that is!
Even though Bastrop was almost the state capitol, is the second oldest city in Texas and has the most historical buildings in Texas (or so they say), nobody knows where it is...
