What are the main differences between 2004 and 2005 models? If you have a Nav in a 2004 and bluetooth, can speech be added?
So there are no difference in engine/interior/exterior/options? I know the Nav system is higher version, nothing else? What about the speech feature? (Or have I missed this on my 2004 delivered in Aug.?)
Voice recognition/activation is featured in the navigation equipped 2004 Prius models. The Navigation software is constantly updated. Within two weeks of taking delivery of my 05, others reported higher version number of their navigation database. The options are the same, except that there are fewer option package configurations available. There were some other incremental improvements and minor changes phased in during the 2004 model year.
Someone (I think it's in this forum) mentioned that the brake pedal feel is different. Maybe in the US, but I did not notice a difference between the 04 that I test drove and my 05. Perhaps I was concentrating too much on driving this thing than on brake pedal feel during the test drive
I should have read the back of the book! Just tried it and it worked, now will download the voice command list someone has here. Which "generation" is the 04? O5? Same? (I see where there are now 6, not 9 packages.)
Yes, the Owner's Manual is generally a good starting place. The voice commands are the same for both the 04 and 05 Prius models (and probably the Lexus models that use the same system).
