I just happened to find this parking spot. What are the odds?

While in the Courtney/Comox area last two weeks I parked in "Longlands" golf course lot. Came back out, and parked next to me was another Prius. :) I guess they wanted to gossip.

When I left and was waiting for the Nanaimo/Horseshoe Bay ferry in the parking lot, - two - other Driftwood Pearl Prius pulled in as well! Only three Prius on the ferry, all the same colour. :)

Yep. Or rather, who will park in front of you. I'm the one in the back.

Well, I do try to park near other Prii if not next to them. I think there is an impact in numbers. Two next to each other have more impact than two in the same parking lot but much farther apart.

I want people to really notice the car and how many are out there. So they'll consider it when they next buy a car. It's isn't a "novelty" anymore. It's mainstream. I want it to be really common.

I was wondering about the OP's picture --- is his Gen III Prius parked in between a Gen II Prius in the rear and another Gen III Prius in the front? If so, I think the odds of finding a parking spot like that are really slim.

Yep, that's a Prius Classic parked behind me. Not too many of those around here.

Gen I. The current one is a Gen II.

Or you want to be picky, it's a Gen 1.5 (since Gen 1.0 is the 97-00 Japanese model)

Sorta like how 2004-2005 is a Gen 2 and 2006-2008 is Gen 2.5

I know what you mean, but I was just on a website that described the original Japanese model as Gen I, the original US model as Gen II, and the current one as Gen III. I've seen other PriusChatters describe them that way as well.

But I agree with you, there's really only been two generations. The model year or intra-generational changes are too minor to be called a generation of their own.

I first park away from other cars.. then next to other prius.. then next to nice cars. less chance of door dings that way!

I once parked next to a prius and when I came back from dinner, the other prius had moved two spaces away. :( Guess they didn't want to make friends.

Yeah, I want to gossip about why my car stalls after overheating and why it's going to cost me $5,000 to replace the malfunctioning part.

Our neighbor has the gen 1 since new.
This pic was at our clubhouse. It's common, except for 1 thing. The mighty whitie is next to a pair that also have the HOV stickers. That's a little less common.

nice, even tho it's only a camera phone ... & like I really needed to tell you that.

I was at a red light right behind a Gen I. I had no idea what the car was until I read "Hybrid" then noticed "Toyota" and then "Prius."

Whenever I visit the dentist, someone in his building has a Prius. Not only that, it is the same color as mine. I always 'buddy up' when I see it. The windows to the office face the parking lot, so I can see people chekcing both of them out as they come an go. Kinda takes your mind off the reason your at the dentist office!!lol

Someone should tell the Classic driver to park a little closer to the curb. ;)

Prii are still quite a novelty in Canada, at least in Ontario... I have only parked next to another Prius twice in my 17 months of ownership, and I drive a lot, as my basic warranty will be up before the week is out. :( Of course, with Toyota Canada's newly revised pricing for '08, this may be changing...

You need to come over to the west coast lol.

Tons of Prius cabs and a decent no. of private owners too. TCHs are selling well to to the point that I'm starting to see more of them than Priuses (private ownership... Prius cabs are still more plentiful than TCH cabs)
