Found this article today: http://blog.wired.com/cars/2007/09/confessions-of-.html "Witness, if you will, the stunningly cool Citroën C-Cactus concept, set to debut next week at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The car is, in essence, a mad French take on the snoozy Toyota Prius, featuring Citroën's proven HDi diesel-electric hybrid drivetrain. The C-Cactus, which weighs about 2880 pounds, is built almost entirely of environmentally friendly materials (e.g., the glass and the tires are recyclable, the felt covering the door panels and trunk liner is made of chemical-free wool felt, and even the leather pieces have been collected from tannery cast-offs). Beyond the truly indelible exterior styling (c'est magnifique, if you ask me) and the most deliriously looney interior décor you've ever seen, the C-Cactus (so named because, like the desert plant, it goes a long time between fill-ups) will return a Prius-spanking 3.4 liters per 100 km, or 69 mpg. Top speed is limited (in the name of frugality) to 93 mph—but come on now, unless you're Al Gore III or Steve Wozniak, do you really need more than that from your hybrid?" But take a look at the shot of the seats - they look more like airline seats. I get the feeling that after a couple of hours in those, you will never complain about the Prius seats again.
Cute! But this looks to be sized much smaller then a Prius. This is Rovert Mini sized and they only get 69MPG from that? And that's using a diesel? Doesn't impress me. Still, it's really cute
Looks like a bloated C1 haha. The doors look really cool though and the hybrid concept too. MB is coming out with its S300 Bluetec Hybrid.

Glad to see the competition finally competing. Let's get more hybrids on the road. Hmmm. Diesel-electric? I wonder if it will pass California emissions? The front end is excessively ugly, though. I also don't care for that teenie tiny steering wheel. And what *is* that between the seats? Is that where all of the instrumentation is? If so, no way I'm taking my eyes off the road to look aside every time I want to see how fast I'm going. Great concept. Still needs work.
Like the concept a lot -- not so crazy about the car or the name. "the C-Cactus (so named because, like the desert plant, it goes a long time between fill-ups)" I wonder if someone on the team suggested calling it a camel instead of cactus? Seriously though, its OK but I expect better design from Citroen. The steering wheel and centre console look a little toy-like and the dash and door panels would suit a stylish bathroom but I don't think I could get used to them in a car. This is only my opinion mind you, I'm sure there are lots of people for whom this design has appeal. Just not me.
Just showed my wife, she thinks it's the perfect alternative to replace her Yaris ! She's always wanted a Volks New Beetle - but this cute car she really likes.
And here I am thinking "Maybe when that gets here people will quit picking on the Prius for being ugly?"
