Interesting comments on the perceived improved handling and seat comfort for the 2008's. I wonder if Toyota made a few subtle changes (improvements) in what are (IMHO) two of the biggest weaknesses of the current Prius.

The Prius I bought felt different than the ones I drove the week before. It happens.
Lori: As far as the extended warranty, buying from Troy is a great deal and a quick and smooth transaction. I bought the 7 year/75,000 mile/ 0 deductible.
I am planning on buying the extended warranty from Troy especially after I found out the LCD is not covered under the Hybrid warranty. I suspect replacing the LCD could easily pay for the extended warranty. I checked out the black rubber bumper protector from the Matrix. It looks too narrow, leaving the edge of the bumper exposed. Talking with my sales person and parts, I decided to go with the clear applique protector. They will install it for a total of about $100. Should be enough for my soccer gear and my kids school bags. I didn't take a picture of the consumption display but it stated 53.1 mpg after 100 miles. Still very surprising mileage for a new car.

It has the same suspension, transmission and steering setup as the CE and LE. It even has the same alloy wheels as the LE! It's the XRS model that has the 2ZZ Yamaha-built engine, 6-spd manual, 16" alloys mounted on summer tyres, stiffer suspension, rear "V" brace and front strut tower brace. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(wiiprii @ Sep 7 2007, 03:59 PM) </div> FYI, the "square" buttons are the old style. The rounded ones are the new style. You have the base model and hence you have the old screen. Those 2006+ models with a backup camera will use the new, higher resolution screen which also comes with the rounded buttons.

Spectra Blue Mica IS the best colour B) I do spend more time keeping it clean than I did with my last car, but that's because of how good it looks when its shiny. [attachmentid=11309] Have a great time with it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(samiam @ Sep 9 2007, 04:01 PM) </div> Beautiful place to compliment your Prius.
That looks like a beautiful color -- I wish they'd had it in 2006 when I got mine! The only blue that was available then was Seaside Pearl -- which I find really dull. Has anybody seen this color at a dealer? I'd love to see it in person.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(wiiprii @ Sep 7 2007, 10:51 AM) </div> It's base model, not touring. My 2007 base model has the same MFD as the OP's.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Boo @ Sep 25 2007, 07:55 PM) </div> Yep, we don't get Spectra Blue. Just like we got Magnetic Grey one year after you guys get it.
Like that Spectra Blue Mica! I'm planning on getting the 08 with pack#2 in 4 weeks and hope that blue will be available in my area. Thanks for sharing.
I'm in the market for the exact same car: 2008 Spectra Blue Mica with Pkg 2. Could you guys tell me what you paid for it? That'll help a lot. Thanks!
