I bought a new 2007 grey Prius in 5/07, and it never had a window sticker on it, and the dealer couldn't find it, and still hasn't gotten a new one. I've heard it is illegal to sell a new car without a window sticker, is this a rumor only? I'm in CA. Any clarification would be great. thanks, tim
There used to be a service online where you could print out a sticker, given the VIN. Some classic car folks get them there, but I can't remember the site. I've never bought a new car without the sticker, though I have had to remind them to put it in the glovebox after final detailing. One Ford we bought, the guy had duplicate sticker copies in a book. We just thumbed thru them, until we found the car we wanted, and then he brought it around for us to see..pre-internet!

Just got my car last week and the sales said I have to remove the sticker myself due to state law in CA... so after all the detailing and cleaning he pulled up the car with the sticker on the window.....

When I took delivery of my Prius 2008 yesterday, the sticker had been removed and placed in the glove box. I found this to be a nice service since they removed the glue residue from the window. Toyota dealers pay attention to the customer satisfaction survey. So, they should work with you.
I never saw my car with a window sticker, I think they said it was because it was recently delivered. Who puts on the window sticker, the dealer? I'm happy with the car, but my wife is not very pleased that I sold her Mini Cooper. I will see what the dealer says. I think they may say that they removed it knowing I was coming in to purchase (done over internet), and they took it off in prep. They have not found it in 3 months. It will be he said/she said.
