Just found out some bad news and need to sell my Prius 2006 Package 6, with Pin stripes and bumber guards all around Nav XM radio, Silver, with 14,000 miles , exc condition, always hand washed. What can I sell it for?
I'm struggling with the same question, Rubyp. Kelly Blue Book is different than what NADA says, which is different than what you get on Edmunds. And then when you look on Ebay, they seem to not be pricing very high or well. Autotrader seems to sell on the high range. And then there's the chance/market value/gas price factor. I've been trying to sell my '04 for about a week and the only thing that's worked (so far) is someone walking by my car and seeing the for sale sign. I haven't seen too many 04's for sale; Maybe I'm pricing it too high? I have no clue. If you google the sites I noted above, it will be a good starting point for you to determine how to price your car. Good luck! -LCat
Yahoo will give you an idea of trade in value to a dealer and what private party sales are going for in your area for a similar car.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Danny Hamilton @ Aug 30 2007, 01:43 PM) </div> Private conversation leading to a dead end of him ignoring any further PM's. Basically I said I would offer kelley blue book value then he sent me two links to vehicles FROM DEALERS with the price he's expecting to get.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Fred S @ Aug 31 2007, 08:41 AM) </div> hahaha, sounds like he has never sold a car before. If he has the average milage on his, (just ball parking here from my head) I'd say its worth around 23-24k. Money spend on mods do NOT increase the value of the car, they DECREASE it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Slair @ Aug 31 2007, 03:53 PM) </div> Exactly! He's looking for close to $26k for it.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Fred S @ Sep 1 2007, 08:45 AM) </div> Fred I told you $25,000 not $26,000, You do't have to accept, thats ok. I have been asked for the car by a few so its ok, so don't get yourself all upset. I really don't want to sell the car but Finacial needs have hit me hard . So please move on , I'm sorry if my price dosn't meet your expectations.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rudyp @ Sep 1 2007, 05:50 AM) </div> I am sorry to advise you that your asking price is unrealistic. According to www.kbb.com, the Blue Book private party value for a 2006 Prius, package 6 with 14,000 miles, in excellent condition in Flushing, NY (I used Zip code 11351) is several thousand dollars below what you are asking.
I would bet that that $3150 tax credit you got was pretty nice also. Trying to sell a used car at new car price. GOOD LUCK and GOOD BYE.
