Hello, I am a new owner of a 2005 Prius. This model had package 5, but the last owner installed some equipment that I have no idea how to get it to work with the interface. Also, it has a serius radio antenna on the roof and i am not sure if thats factory or not, but anyway, I dont know how to get that to work either, do i need separate receiver? Anyhow, I took some pictures of the extra stuff so if any one knows what it is and how to get to work, please share. Thanks.

The first shot looks like the antenna...not factory.

The shot of the thing with the buttons looks like maybe a dock for a Sirius radio (portable)?

The plug with the "minus" sign on it is a connector for an IPOD...I suspect there is a VAIS or DICE unit back behind the dash somewhere and it probably works through the CD changer and steering wheel controls...a search here will reveal operational instructions.

Not too sure on the bundle of cables...maybe old ones removed to allow for install of the Sirius and DICE/VAIS units?

Ok, so I figured out that the docking station is for a Stiletto SL10. However it doesn't include a 3.5mm headphone plug thing (can't remember what one calls those). Ye and I did notice that the cable with the "minus" was for an Ipod, so I guese I just have to go borrow and Ipod from any one (cause everyone has one these days) and check it out. Thx

So I've been trying to find out how to use VAIS/DISE, but I can't find a tutorial that clearly explain how to use. The cable look like I do have the device but I dont own an Ipod so can't test it that way. I've pluged in my mp3 plyaer into the AUX but I dont understand how to turn it on. Help please

I'm sure the unit is made specifically to control a genuine iPod, and possibly even certain models of iPod.

I doubt it will work with any old mp3 player.

But you should be able to contact the manufacture for some info, including a user manual. Try www.diceelectronics.com. Or the VAIS folks at www.vaistech.com.

That's a DICE piece, we used to use that style of connection. Try pressing the CD key and see if it jumps to a CD changer even if there are no CD's loaded in the deck.

You don't need an iPod to see - and what now, why do you have an Aux plug and you purchased a 2005?

Doesnt the DISE include an AUX and Ipod plug, and what do you mean I dont need an ipod? like how do confirm that I do have this installed. So when I plug in my MD into the AUX nothing happens, like I cant hear the music in my car.

The 2005 model did not come with a AUX jack. Where exactly is this jack you're plugging into? Do you have a photo of it?

Ah, I understand now. What happens if you press the AM key a few times, does it ever say SAT on it?

Welp, I guess you should trace the cables back and see if the previous owner even bothered to leave it installed.
