I linked to the Rice Toyota inventory site then pasted my local dealer code into the URL at the "&dealer_code=" location and received the following error message: Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d' Type mismatch: '[string: ""]' /inventory/searchresults1.asp, line 355 What did I do wrong? Thanks, Hank
Hank, Is it possible that the dealer is out of the SE region? Maybe it's South Central. I see farther up the thread that someone had the same error, but later they mention they were from another region and that was the problem. Dan
Dan, I assumed that a dealer in Gulfport, MS would be in the South-East region (Oh, Silly Me ). If there is a South-Central region, I'm sure you are right, and it's probably HQ'd in Memphis. Where can I find out how Toyota has organized its dealer regions? If there is a South-Central region, and Gulfport is in it, is there any way I can get the URL for the SC region, or get help modifying the SE region URL? Thanks, Hank Added 8/28 - 1340 CDT: I found out that the SE region includes Alabama, but not Mississippi. There appears to be a Gulf Coast region, but I have only been able to identify Texas and Louisiana as included states. The only returns from Google for "South Central" were in the UK and Australia...I doubt if MS would be included. Hopefully someone else will have more info.
Okay, let's see if I can get this right. Here's the breakdown of the different regions of Toyota. I don't know the exact names of the regions, except for Southeast and Gulf States, because they are private distributors. 1. Conneticut, New Jersey, New York 2. Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota 3. Michigan, Ohioa, Kentucky, S. California, Tennessee 4. Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Nevada 5. Delaware, Maryland, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Dakota, South Dakota, West Virgina 6. N. California, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island 7. Southeast Toyota: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina 8. Gulf States Toyota: Arkansas, Louisiana, Missisipi, Oklahoma, Texas I got this info off the Toyota fleet page. I have no idea how they decide what state is in what region--some stuff makes sense geographically and others don't. Somewhere there's a thread about the different regions w/ the code for each region (when you use build your car on the Toyota site, you the code you can enter for the entire region instead of a zip code), and I think maybe a phone number of the head of each region. I don't think anyone has had success breaking the dealer code for any region but the SE. I tried for a bit to figure out the Gulf States allocation but gave up.
I think I may have been wrong about the different Toyota regions. Here is the thread with the different regions and their codes. Don't ask me where any of this info comes from. I've given up on understanding the Toyota distribution system. http://priuschat.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2988 It still doesn't change the fact that Mississippi is part of Gulf States (add on the extra port options, baby!)
OK, I haven't ever used this emoticon before but I just have to now :Wth: I mean, I know there are geographically challenged people but there is 2500 miles between CA and the those New England states. Maybe that is why it takes 2 weeks longer for our cars to get here. They dump them off at the Golden Gate and they have to make their way east ;-)
Does anyone know if this URL will show the 2006 models when they start to come in, or will there be some other part of the URL that has to be changed?
don't know about the 2006s, but they've updated info upthrough the 22nd of november. 287 something prii.
Dan, I just put a deposit down 2 days ago at Rice on the Tideland Pearl Pkg.1 05 model. It and a White one is due in on the 8th (Tuesday). Not sure about the others though.
Also, I have replaced the dealer code and I'm coming up with my color but the VIN is not correct. I'm I missing something here?
I checked this link today and it shows (on the last page) Rice Toyota getting about a dozen 2006s, available 12/08.
The Toyota website is FINALLY allowing me to configure a 2006 Prius in my zipcode here in Florida. They are listing ALL 8 packages! I wonder if its going to stay that way? Of course, neither of my local dealerships show any coming in yet.
Hello all-- Since we're on the topic of SE dealers: I live in Durham, NC, and am looking to buy a Prius (so exciting!) I was wondering if anyone has an opinion as to which of the 3 local dealerships here - Mark Jacobson, Fred Anderson, & Leith - is best to do business with? Thanks!
Could someone explain how the whole allocation thing works? If, for example, I want a #1 package when there are none listed on the allocation, does that mean I'm just dumb out of luck? Or can I order one from a dealer and wait? How are the allocations determined? Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed light on this elusive process.
Ok I figured out how to find the correct dealer code for the southeast region. Go to google and search on the following. Search of toyotaweb.net domain.site:toyotaweb.net What is returned is a list of what ever google has found at this domain. There are several individual dealers listed. Now pick a dealer in this list and look at the url, there you will find the dealers code. Take this code and replace the code from the original link that is highlighted below. Cut this back into your favorite browser and hit return. http://www.toyotaweb.net/inventory/searchr...chdealer=false& dealerhasnone=false&vehicle=prius&model=1222,1224&dealer_code=32127 &thisdealer=True&optionscarryover=%5B%5D&dealerhasnone=false,%20false I live in Colorado and have not found a region wide website, though a few of the dealers have their own internal allocations listed. Cheers
I was wondering how to check on Prius's coming into Colorado (or surrounding states). Is there a site where I can do this (non-dealer) ? Thanks.
