Looks like Warren has been reading the Hummers are more green than the Prius propaganda. Warren also seems to neglect providing any facts or sources to back up his claims along with 'forgetting' about mentioning the fact that batteries are recycled.

How about some quick math to check out some of Warrens 'facts'. Assuming that a car is driven for 150,000 miles, a 25 mpg car will consume 6000 gallons of gas, while a 50 mpg car (the Prius) will consume 3000 gallons of gas. So, using Warren's logic, it takes more than 3000 gallons of gas to make a Prius battery pack. Anybody out there that understands battery manufacturing that can dispute (or confirm) the claim?

Is this the same Warren Brown who is the host of Sugar Rush on The Food Network?
If so, that would make sense, as he is use to cooking up all sorts of concoctions.

Or maybe it is the Warren Brown who does the live Mark Twain portrayals.
I'm sure he could weave a tall tale.

Maybe he's the "one and only Warren Brown" - "The Omega G" Warren Brown

I love it; the guy sits down to a meal with representatives from GM, fish is on the menu and the conversation seems to turn to religion and how I can only guess that it's humankind's purpose on the Earth to convert all this potential energy (oil) to power our personal conveyances.

Not a mention of the concept of solar and wind energy as part of the electrical grid to harness energy to power plug-in hybrids. Oops, I forgot, he was conversing with people representing the company that killed the electric car...

    SPE,

I'd like "Black Pro Wrestlers who dabble in Automotive Commentary Bashing The Toyota Prius" for $400, if you please.

In a blog entry months ago I said this was "the study that just won't die, but needs to." And here it is still alive.

The CNW study it an excellent litmus test for how thoroughly someone reads. Some people will quote anything that says something they want to be true, others actually look into the details of how the results were achieved. The CNW study utterly fails to hold up to scrutiny.

Well, that's pretty much the litmus. Any writer that quotes the CNW article doesn't know what he's talking about and should be ignored.

As to the article and Prius bashing....time will take care of that. As the years pass and none of what was written comes to pass...it will appear more and more ludicrous to continue to beat that dead horse.

    Connect the following two thoughts:
    1) How much Prius advertising do you see from Toyota - Very little
    2) How much Prius bashing do you see from the press - Lots

Why is the Prius selling like gangbusters?

(Hint - Marketing/media opinion is probably not the force most think it is.)
