This company is not holding back. The computers are more powerful. It's made up of recycled glass and aluminum. It's cheaper than the iMac I got a year ago. Sheesh.

Yep, $1799 for a 24" iMac is a pretty screaming deal. I bought a new MacBook last December and am pretty satisfied with it. But that 24" screen would sure be nice...

I'm looking at a now two-releases-old iMac 17, and it still looks pretty good. The 24 seems HUGE, but I'm sure I could be happy with a 20.

While I love Apple, and it's products, I can't always keep up with buying them. I mean, I just got a iMac last year, and it's the 20 inch one. Weeks after I bought it, the 24 comes out. Now they changing up again, and becoming faster...I wish you could trade in a iMac, and get the latest model sort of like a car.

Yeah, you have to pay attention to release dates of models with Apple... various product lines have updates at different rates, and it's usually pretty easy to tell when an update should be coming along in the next month or two.

It's been 78 days since the last update, with an average time between updates of 186 days - it's a safe bet that you won't see another update until sometime around thanksgiving for the holiday season.

It's been 140 days since the last update for the Mac Pro, which typically sees an update every 210 days... I can't promise what architecture they'll use, but it looks like you've got a little over 2 months to go, at the earliest.

The real question is the iPod line... 344 days since the last update for the iPod and iPod nano, both of which typically see 223-245 days between updates. The shuffle is approaching it's next revision too, with 204 days since the last update and an average of 250 between updates.

Thanks for the info. That would make a good Christmas present to myself.
