Air Conditioner Compressor failure

    55k miles on 2005. Air conditioner compressor started whining. Local dealer checked with Toyota and then advised I would need a new compressor @ $1,300.

    Troy and extended warranty saved the day. 0 cost to me. Big thanks to PriusChat and Troy!

    BTW, wish me luck, local "factory trained tech" has never replaced a compressor before.

    Happened to anyone else?

    You might want to change the tile on your post. This is not an "Air Compressor". It's a refrigerant compressor, but everyone will better understand the title if you call it an "Air Conditioner Compressor". I was expecting to find something about a tire pump.

    Thanks for your suggestion. You are correct, it is quite ambiguous.

    I realized my error almost immediately after posting but was unable to change the subject line using "quick edit" and let it go at that. After reading your post, I tried again using "full edit" and was able to modify the subject line.
