Yesterday I saw a total of 11 Prii in my Gurnee-Glenview travels! 4 were seen on two 5 minute drives at lunch. A normal count for my area is maybe 3-4 if I'm lucky. Normally, instead of count the Prii we count the "beaters". Cars are looking good longer apparently because I see very few rust buckets driving around.
Prius sighting in my area is starting to lose its charm, there are so many. I've had mine for over a year now, and I still notice every other Prius within my field of vision, but I don't so much shout them out anymore. I'll still collect on perdiddles though
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(N_IL_Priusfan @ Aug 16 2007, 07:35 AM) </div> LUCKY!!! I still only see ~1.5/week. Maybe I just don't drive enough. Or in the right parts of town. Or the right state.
When I got mine in February, I'd be very lucky if I saw one. Now I routinely see 5-10 on each leg of my Boston Valley to Williamsville commute (25 mi). Way to go Buffalo.
I usually see one-a-day, and not the same one, except 4 in the same parking area as I, at one of those portable-carnivals. So... being curious of sorts, I walked around looking at them, no one had tinted windows like mine, no one did an upgrade on their tires like I did, mine had the rings removed, theirs did not....did not look inside....I was just curious, not nosy.
There are so many here that I've stopped counting them and only count other Magnetic Grey ones. I usually see two or three a day.
Every Prius I see is always in the middle or left lanes going 5-10mph above the speed limit. Always makes me wonder: "why?" But I figure they are getting better FE than the other suckers in the left lane, so to each his/her own.
I routinely see 5-10 Prii any time I'm out around town for any length of time. This week I saw 5 just in the relatively small parking garage of my local HMO! (ok, yeah, that includes mine) And then there's the five who live in my immediate neighborhood.....
I'm starting to see too many to count, too. It's amazing that I'm seeing more of them, in Grays Harbor, than I do in Olympia! Oh, yesterday afternoon, I saw a mauve Gen 1, in Aberdeen. Hey, I gave you guys the thumbs up
My daughter told me yesterday that she had set a new record - 4 in one day. Normally she sees 2 per day on her commutes to college, while I only see 1 or 2 per day. They are still fairly rare here in Sydney.
Went to San Francisco this weekend... so many San Franciscans driving Priuses... they were all over the place! I thought Pasadena was the Prius capital, but I think the title belongs to San Francisco. Crossed the Golden Gate Bridge by foot. The return walk to the car took 37 minutes at a slow pace, and my partner and I counted 76 Priuses crossing the bridge! Wow!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(JunsGrayPria @ Sep 16 2007, 09:03 PM) </div> A Californian replaces a incandescent light bulb with a fluorescent one and its big news. I hate to break it to you, but California doesn't have the "Prius Capital". http://www.hybridcars.com/market-dashboard...metro-intensity I can't drive down the street without seeing at least 3 Prius, if I actually happen to drive to the local grocery store (instead of walk, something not many can do in CA) it is typical that out of the 25 spaces, my Prius would be joined by 3-4 others. From what I've seen, I have at least 10-15 Prius in a 10-block radius. Its nice that some people CA actually think about the impact the state's lifestyle may have, but everyone I personally know with a hybrid in CA bought it for the HOV pass first...environmental considerations are about 5 down the list. Now if the state could just do something about the endless sprawl with no viable transit (outside of SF proper).
