My son snapped this picture while driving near our house. Note the extra window and door! I think this may be a Limo Prius, but I didn't even know such things existed.
Looks to me like it was "enhanced with Adobe® Photoshop®" I can tell because there is a seam in the front just behind the driver door. Nice try through.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(TheForce @ Aug 14 2007, 04:24 PM) </div> That could just be the really sloppy welding job, huh?
No, not enhanced with photoshop. My son took the pic on his cellphone, and showed it to me when he got home because he knows what a normal prius looks like. and I resent the implication that I "enhanced" the photo.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(TheForce @ Aug 14 2007, 03:24 PM) </div> Got to agree. If you blow up the picture, you can see a very distinct line going straight up through the middle door's rear seam. The line cuts through the window, and (here's the real tell) the windshield wiper below the car has an obvious clip in it (where the parts don't quite join together). If you look above, you can see light coming through the tree which stops suddenly right along that same line. Maybe your son is pulling a prank on Dad?
Lass, You are right on the ball. Here is the company who made it an the details: http://www.worth1000.com/emailthis.asp?entry=153142 Creator Comments: The stretch SUV was costing too much in gas, so the limo company switched to a stretch Prius. Please view full, I spent a heck of a lot of time on this. The Prius had to be built (there's no such thing as a stretch Prius), and the sports store needed to be completely reconstructed as the SUV blocked all of that. Constructive comments appreciated, I'd love to improve! Stretch Prius By LordHedgie for the Limo contest.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(soz @ Aug 15 2007, 03:20 AM) </div> You do know that worth1000.com has tons of Photoshop contests?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(soz @ Aug 14 2007, 09:20 PM) </div> That is even a worse photochop than the first one.
I did NOT photoshop that picture. My son took the pic with his phone, sent the pic to my phone and I uploaded it to my Verizon account and photo host. And I do not appreciate being called a liar.
http://www.hybridlimo.com claims to have a stretch Prius and that they will be posting pictures soon... anything's possible, i suppose
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(lass @ Aug 14 2007, 07:17 PM) </div> When I downloaded and enlarged the photo, I saw that the license plate was also blanked out. That bit of a jog in the middle of the "middle" door is what does it for me.
For the record, I am not calling you a liar. It does however seem as if there is a rift in the second door. I've marked the spot. Just seems strange.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(lass @ Aug 14 2007, 10:17 PM) </div> Welcome to the internet. No one believes anything anyone has. I don't know you well enough to call you a liar or not. I'm just saying there are some points in the photo that make it appear to be altered. The low quality and resolution would lead me to believe it was a camera phone pic, but that is also a good way to hide photochopped images.
Well, somebody's got some 'splainin' to do. The roof lines on the two cars pictured (the other at worth1000.com) are quite different. A stretch Prius isn't easy even in 1/34 scale. Anyone seen the dragster funny car version yet?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(tballx @ Aug 14 2007, 06:42 PM) </div> True. Some of the discrepancies might be explained by JPEG artificating (it is highly compressed) [attachmentid=10660] I'm going to outline a few of the reasons I thought this might be photoshopped. 1) Straight line at the rear seam of the middle door. This runs through much on the picture, and you can see a clear color variation on either side of the line. 2) As the line continues above the car, you see an area of sunlight that seems to be chopped off right at that line (look to the right of the line in the area circled). 3) Along the bottom of the 'new' door, the line at the bottom of the car appears choppy. This continues along the side of the car too. 4) The windshield in the car where the camera is has a distinct clip in the windshield wiper arm on the line described in point 1. This appears to be the result of copying and pasting. 5) The part of the middle door where the window and door meet are out of alignment. 6) The reflection in the middle door seems to jog and isn't aligned at the middle of the door (where there is no seam to cause a misalignment). 7) Also along the line described in point 1, the roof line doesn't match. The black stretched Prius limo was definitely photoshopped. By picking a photo that was directly side on, I avoided some of the problems created by shooting a picture at an angle like the one above. Lass, I'm not calling you a liar, but some of these discrepancies certainly make it look like an altered image. Of course, there are discrepancies in the rest of the photo too, and I can't explain why they're there.
I've seen a beat up civic limo driving on the street...actually right next to me at a light...so I believe a prius limo does exist....
