So.. I'm searching dealers in my area and of course everyone is coming back with MSRP and a 5-7 month wait period. I just received an emailed quote from a local dealer saying they sell a lot of Prii, there wait time is only 30-60 days AND the quote on package #4 is $2000 below MSRP! I'll be inquiring more about it of course Is this dealer for real? Dan
Fairfax ----- Let me know what you find out. Im' on the dealers loooonnnng list in Charlottesville, VA.
Sounds like they will want a $1000 retainer which is NON-refundable. Have everything in writing. This sounds v. fishy to me. Probably your instint tells you the same thing or else you wouldn't doubt it too, right?
Which dealer is this, If I might ask. You can name dealers, just not salespersons in here..I don't know of any dealership in this area that is charging under MSRP for a Prius. In fact the closest I've seen is Lustine Toyota and they are charging $670 over MSRP. I know it's not them though because they don't have a waiting list. They are first come, first serve. That's why I got my Prius the same day I was looking for one. They happened to have one sitting in front not sold. They had two last Saturday morning when I took mine in for service, but they were sold when I went back to pick mine up in the afternoon. Is this Koon's Toyota you're talking about...if so, they definitely don't sell for under MSRP.
Considering the Prius has a waiting list across the country, I would say it's too good to be true. But once you show me, I'll be a believer.
The bad news is that the prices were incorrect and they are actually around MSRP. The good news is that another dealer has a Silver package #4 available right now on his lot. I have until Tuesday to decide if I want it. We're also getting an '05 Sienna but I'm still debating on whether to wait on the Prius. Skipper, were you looking for a Silver #4? If I don't take it I'll let you have the car. This same dealer, with the car available, said he gets 20-30 Prii a month. Just yesterday I watched 9 being delivered. Dan
The wife's wishes comes first The really difficult decision is that we have a '97 Camry in ok condition and a '98 Montero Sport. I really hate shelling out 25k when I don't -have- to. I'm honestly still on the fence. I love the car but the -must have- is not there. I'd hate to get it only to have buyers remorse later. But, I'll probably give in like I do on most things I find to have a high coolness factor. If only Toyota had a hybrid minivan! Dan
You can find a short write-up about the Sienna Hybrid Van here: http://www.hybridcars.com/toyota-sienna-mi...van-hybrid.html
How long is loooonnnng? I've been on the list since August and am now ablut #20 so I have been told to expect delivery hopefully in February.
