I just wanted to thank the Prii community for helping me out with my decision. Although this is my 1st post on here I have spent a good part of the last 3-4 weeks browsing to through the threads. This gave me a better understanding of the vehicle and whether it was right for me. I feel that my research paid off so I wanted to share my new vehicle with you guys. I was able to use the information provided by other members to get what I believe was a great deal. I commute about 110 miles round trip everyday and so far have enjoyed the awesome mileage. Here are some pics for your enjoyment. I picked up the car last Saturday and so far I have tinted the windows, removed the wheel covers and rear badges. This weekend I am having the clear bra installed to protect the front end since I do mostly highway driving. Suspension mods are not to far behind. Thanks again. -Scott [attachmentid=10477][attachmentid=10478]
already removed the wheel trim rings, i see!! very nice and what a GREAT color! welcome to PC, it's extraordinarily helpful and (with successful usage of the search tool) can be your best friend
Looks just like mine! same package! Do you have the grey or tan interior?? I'm thinking about blacking out all the emblems and grill, what do you think?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(NicksBlackBrid @ Aug 9 2007, 08:58 PM) </div> I painted my Prius emblem the same color as my car (Mag Grey), and also the hybrid logos. Looks very subtle and cool. I've also painted black the Toyota logo in the rear.
Just like mine except I gave in to the urge to mod: -Motegi forged 15x6.5" wheels (10 lbs each) with 205/60-15 Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S tires -Hawk Ceramic front pads -TOM'S upper and lower front suspension braces -TOM'S lower rear suspension brace The car now handles like it should have from the factory. Today on a downhill stretch of curvy-twisty road, I blew past a MINI (it helped that the MINI driver didn't know how to really drive their car, otherwise they would have run away and hid from me...); the look on their face (Wth is that Prius doing running away from me!!!) in the rearview mirror paid for the mods. Enjoy your ride whatever you do with it!
socalmpg, you better get on those center caps, 50 bucks with shipping, although I wish I had black ones... So, I want to black out everything, anybody have shots of blacked out emblems, grill? Thought you might want a shot too socalmpg... I want to paint my emblems but leave the blue in the hybrid, HSD logo
Now you have to attend one of our Los Angeles Club gatherings, The next one is coming up soon. GREAT CAR, GREAT PICS. www.clubofprii.rshepherd.net
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(NicksBlackBrid @ Aug 9 2007, 08:58 PM) </div> I have the gray interior. I would have loved the tan just for the look of the combination. However I it was not available at the time and the up keep would have been hard. I'm thinking about blacking out the grill but not the emblems. I'm blacking out the tail lights this weekend. I also need to order the wheel caps. I'm thinking about matching those to the wheel color. apriusfan, I am looking to do the Tom's braces after I do the appearance stuff. Thanks for the info on the handling. I was debating wether it was worth the money or not.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(socalmpg @ Aug 10 2007, 10:44 AM) </div> Out of curiosity, what is hard about the upkeep? I have had the bisque leather interior since March 23, 2007 and have done nothing besides sit in the seats in the way of upkeep. Not being available is another matter entirely. I originally was in the market for a Black with Bisque Touring edition (nothing like filtering for a hard-to-get combination...) in late February, '07 and had to wait through two availability cycles before a car came up that met what I was wanting equipment-wise.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(NicksBlackBrid @ Aug 10 2007, 01:44 AM) </div> Why not just remove the emblems? Except for the Toyota logo and the HSD emblems on the side, the others will just pry off. WD-40 will remove remaining stickum, and then wax.
I'd be willing to buy the plastic hub covers from your Touring wheels. I happen to like them, although I unfortunately scrapped up mine pretty badly while parallel parking (I was still adjusting to dimensions of this car). If you're interested, my e-mail is . Thanks.
