Hi! On 6-25-07 I'm picking up my new Prius (Pkg 3) from a dealer up here near Lake George, NY. I'm really excited about getting "into" this car! My biggest concern stems from the many posts I've read in the "care-maintenance" forums about incompetent techs at so many dealers and service personnel who don't know enough about the Prius! Since I spend 8 months in FL and 4 months in NY I will obviously be needing service in both places. Does anyone have a "good word" about dealers/techs in SW Florida - Ft. Myers, Punta Gorda, Sarasota? Thanks for providing us "newbies" with such a great resource! Mo

I've dealt with a half-dozen dealers here in SW Flawed-duh! and there are some I'd run from in a minute - BUT - I've always gotten good service (and questions answered) at Ft.Myers Toyota. I'm buying a Prius from them - I hope to get it next week - and they serviced my old and loved 1995 Toyota Camry for several years. Are they "perfect?" Surely not. But other dealers in the area where we live (Naples) have proven to be both incompetent and liars to boot. Next best, in my book, would be Alan Jay Toyota - but they're up in Sebring, where my wife's parents live - and an hour and a half away from you. I think FMT is for you. If they prove otherwise - well, I'm chagrined, embarrassed and otherwise shouted down. . .

We've had our Sienna serviced there but they haven't totally convinced me! Of course, I'd like nothing better than to find out Palm is one of the best!
Congrats on your new Prius! My Aunt/Uncle who own a home up there (old family property on the lake) have a Prius and love it. Maybe you'll get the "Prius Wave" one of these days! I think the SC idea is a great one, Galaxee's husband will do an awesome job!

Since we bought ours we've notied there are a lot of Prius' around the Lake George area! Just curious where on the lake they owned? We were located in Kattskill Bay for 50 years until we sold in '86. Cheers! <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Papaya Mom @ Aug 9 2007, 12:56 PM) </div> Just realized you live in Hawaii! Are there many Prius owners there???
It has been a long time since I was up there - all I remember is that we could walk to a camp/ice cream area? I'll ask when I talk to my 'rents again! There are a TON of Prii in Hawaii - with gas always HIGH it's a great financial move for lots of people. Also, they come straight from Japan instead of Toyota USA - some people seem to think thats better.
Hi - I bought my Prius from Germain Toyota and so far they have been very courteous and seem to be knowledgable. I have not yet had my first service but have talked to the mechanics and they seem to be aware of the oil overfill problem. Everyone there is super helpful and I think I can trust them with my first oil change. Hi - I bought my Prius from Germain Toyota and so far they have been very courteous and seem to be knowledgable.
