Here's my idea - we show our Prius car next to a significant landmark, and explain the picture. I would love to see a Prius with the Grand Canyon in the background, Mt Washington, etc. Here in Quebec, around the Gaspé peninsula, the government owned & operated electrical company is setting up wind mills, instead of damming up more rivers. So here is a great picture from Cap Chat. We also saw many in Matane and Murdochville. Being surrounding by these towers is nothing short of awesome. Plug in those coordinates into Google Maps and see where I took the picture from. The blueish shack was behind me. Also you see my bored wife and son! I had to place the car in just the right spot, waited for a cloud to pass to capture the setting sun on the car. [attachmentid=10457]
The wind generators are getting some people excited. They are apparently hard on birds. Mine was at "Duffy Lake" on highway 99 in B.C. This is the best highway in the world! 18% grades, one lane "Bailey" bridges, slow to 10 km/hr corners. It's a hoot. I'm on a gravel pulloff. The highway IS paved. [attachmentid=10460]
Monument Valley this spring. We took the Prius on the 17 mile, rutted, holey dist road. Was an adventure! [attachmentid=10463]
Sorry, can't help myself. Had a couple of Prius pics from this spring's road trip in the Southwest and California. Our beloved Prius took us over 5,000 miles and performed flawlessly. Got 48mpg, fully loaded and going 75-80 on the interstates. Monument Valley #2. Thought John Wayne was going to pop out any minute. [attachmentid=10466] Zion National Park. Camped under Watchman Mountain. The Prius was perfect a a road car. Clara Barton rest area, southbound New Jersey Turnpike, between exits 2 & 1. (sorry, couldn't resist)
Wolf Creek Pass, US 160 in SW Colorado, elev. 10.800'. Family of Four. Four weeks. 7,494 miles. 150.675 gallons of gas = $469.27 49.74 mpg = priceless[attachmentid=10473]
[attachmentid=10475] Camping at Devil's Tower, Wyoming. Thunderstorms that night, but no UFO sightings.
