My Prius was hit while parked a month ago, and my dealer cannot get a 2007 fender. They claim there are none in North America. They have suggested they can put a 2006 Prius fender on it, even though it didn't work when they tried it the first time. Does anyone know whether it makes sense to put a 2006 fender on a 2007? I'm quite worried about it, since I don't want them to jimmy it on, and I just bought it in March!! Thanks! Jonny

Is there any difference between a 2006 fender and a 2007 fender? I know they had some trouble fitting it when they tried the first time, and I want to be absolutely sure that there is no difference before I give the OK for them to try again.
Go to a different dealer and wait for a 2007 fender. Whether or not there *is* a difference between a 2006 and 2007 fender, the first dealer has demonstrated that they cannot install an '06. There's no point in getting information which is of no use to you.
Go to a real body shop for the work, bodyshops can and will use all OEM parts, most dealers subcontract it out because they do superior work, and they have tons more experience, chaces are you will even save some money.
The simple answer is just call a local toyota dealer and ask for the part number for a 2006 and a 2007 fender. Takes all of 5 minutes (including waiting).
