Nice ride! It might be easier to see the green car if you move it away from all that green grass! Congrats.

I am so glad for you that you chose the absolutely best color, and be sure to check in at the Pine Mica Silver Club thread (I think our founder, the opening poster, was dislexic, hence Silver Pine Mica became Pine Mica Silver. You have inspired me to update my Avatar from my Stock Toyota Promo Photo.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(NYPrius1 @ Aug 4 2007, 09:41 AM) </div> Mazel Tov!! Just remember a few things.... 1) Inflate those tires!!! I go ABOVE sidewall and have 50 lbs psi at all times checked every time I fill up, but at least go to 42/40. 2) "Draft" behind tractor trailors as often as possible on interstate trips to increase MPG. 3) Only use the A/C when totally necessary as it hurts MPG. 4) Anticipate traffic, and pulse and glide as much as possible. 5) This one is most important, have fun with your new car! You made an excellant decision. WTG!! Brad Tampa Bay Florida
[attachmentid=10371]Hello and welcome ... that's a lovely picture of your new born. I just got around to take a picture of mine (also out in the country). Thanks to all who make this such a helpful site. In just a short time I've learned a lot and already achieved 58+ MPG on the last 3 tanks.

I am getting a bit over 50 MPG Right out of the gate. On one tank I got 54.6 that was my high so far. The lowest has been 51.4.... That was almost all highway with the AC on. Used cc and did between 65 and 70 MPG....... I will use the tips and look forward to great MPG and doing my part in a greener USA. B) Looks like your baby eats less than mine. I will be working on getting to your 58 MPG...... My bast so far has been 54.6.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(NYPrius1 @ Aug 5 2007, 08:11 AM) </div> Thanks - yes they do look great out in the country ... and the city ... parked ... on the highway ... LOL Re MPG: you're doing great especially for your car being that new. I started out with around 50 MPG on the first few tanks; now that the car is just over 5K (break-in period) and inflated my tires to 40/38 it's getting consistent 58+ MPG. Learning driving techniques and paying attention to driving habits + routes certainly helps. My recommendation is first drive it like a normal car as is then as you plateau with your MPG change one factor at a time and see what the impact on MPG is ... then change the next thing ... and so on. Good luck!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(NYPrius1 @ Aug 5 2007, 10:54 AM) </div> Brad, On the AC....... I see some that say try not to use it cause it hurts MPG. Than I see some who say you need to use it to keep the battery cool. Or that will hurt MPG.... Any Thoughts either way?? Thanks
