Just remember a few things....

1) Inflate those tires!!! I go ABOVE sidewall and have 50 lbs psi at all times checked every time I fill up, but at least go to 42/40.
2) "Draft" behind tractor trailors as often as possible on interstate trips to increase MPG.
3) Only use the A/C when totally necessary as it hurts MPG.
4) Anticipate traffic, and pulse and glide as much as possible.
5) This one is most important, have fun with your new car! You made an excellant decision. WTG!!

Re MPG: you're doing great especially for your car being that new. I started out with around 50 MPG on the first few tanks; now that the car is just over 5K (break-in period) and inflated my tires to 40/38 it's getting consistent 58+ MPG. Learning driving techniques and paying attention to driving habits + routes certainly helps.

My recommendation is first drive it like a normal car as is then as you plateau with your MPG change one factor at a time and see what the impact on MPG is ... then change the next thing ... and so on.
