Well, I finally managed to pick up an '07 Prius on the 4th. (package 2 w/ CD changer and tint, about $23000 if anyone cares). Annnd it already has issues. <_< If anyone has any ideas what could have caused them I'd appreciate the input. The weirdest issue is that I arrived home one day, picked up my water bottle, and noticed a few drips- it was leaking. Fine. Except when I went to wipe the water away my hand came back ORANGE. A little more probing revealed a film of orange liquid in the crack of the passenger seat. It didn't come from the water, and aside from holding that bottle the seat's been virtually unused. It hasn't come back after being cleaned up, but the dealer is just going "...you found what?" The other problem is a bit more serious. Somehow the driver's side seatbelt managed to get reversed. It was fine when I got it, then a couple days later the tab that connects it to the locking portion is pointing the wrong way! I have to rotate the belt around entirely to get it to plug in. Again, the dealer's going "...WHAT?!" They've ordered an entirely new seatbelt for me, since they couldn't get it to turn back around.

Just fold the belt over, above or below the metal buckle, and force the buckle it to slide over the folded belt until the fold passes through to the other side. Fixed.. belt is now reversed back. To think they would order a whole assembly just for that. Do you have kids and/or car seats that use that seat? Is it the same seat with orange liquid problem?.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(9G-man @ Jul 28 2007, 12:25 PM) </div> No kids, no car seats. I got out one evening, and must have twisted it somehow then because I got in the next morning and..oops! The orange problem is the passenger seat. I'll try that fix. The service dept. had the car for about 40 minutes and gave up.
How many miles were on the odometer when you took delivery? Maybe the dealer or a test driver spilled some orange soda on the seat. I wouldn't worry about it. But yeah, when it really does need service someday, take it somewhere else.
After twisting back literally hundreds of seatbelt buckles... I still have NO CLUE how people can get them twisted without knowing it!!! The force required to get it to slip back over that folded portion is substantial! However I have never charged a customer for this service. I haven't even let my tongue slip and ask, "How the heck did you do that???" Orange on the seat?? New one on me... and I have been working on Prius since they first hit the shores of this nation. Find a good dealership with at least two or more Prius Certified Techs. (Toyota has special classes even just to perform maint on them) And Enjoy Your Car!
Greetings Bear68. Although you have been on this board since March I haven't seen you before. We need a few techs to help out, so I welcome you and hope you'll share your knowledge as needed.
