Thank you. I hope to get back to modding soon. Been just way to busy lately for just about anything. On a positive note though, been saving a lot of money by not spending it on the car!

Well, I'm really glad I didn't dump my spare and put the sub in the space instead! I got a flat the other day, and I would have been SOL! But I still have some common sense left, and I left it in there. Now I need to find a replacement for the crappy factory jack! Took me over 30 minutes to get it on! At home I can swap out all four corners in 15 with my jack and air compressor.

Anyway, the next day I started to check the tire for a nail or some sort of puncture. Nothing. The tire is in as good a shape as it can be. So I inflated it to 50 psi to find the leak. Well, I heard some hissing, and started feeling all around the tire for a leak... Nothing. So where is the air coming from. I got a cup of soapy water to help locate it.

Then I picked up the wheel, and when my hand was on the inside part of the rim I felt some air. To double check I poured some of the soapy water on the spot, and I got bubbles. It's the rim that's leaking, not the tire. The rim has a tiny, virtually invisible crack on the inside surface of the rim!

I put the tC wheels back on for now.

I'm calling Centerline now, let's see what they say.

Looking at Doc' suspension upgrades I was wondering if I missed a piece.
I have the TRD set, the Tom's front upper stabilizer and the front lower suspension brace.
I added the TOM's lower body brace (replacing the BT so I have an extra one if any one is interested) but noticed that the floor strengthening brace looks to be a different part. Any idea if this is redundant or an additional piece? I cant seem to find a reference site that shows where all three of these fit.

Well, I got the strut bar mounted today. It was actually easier than I thought. Took about an hour from popping the hood to washing my hands. Thank goodness for Toyota Techinfo though. I got a 1 month subscription last night, and I plan on printing out the entire set of documents eventually.

Anyway, I was going to do a photo step-by-step, but I didn't have my digital camera, it was in the wife's car... So you'll have to do with some finished pictures and a text write-up only.

First, I HIGHLY recommend that you get the Techinfo subscription. It is invaluable in figuring out where all the clips, bolts, and so on are. Worth the price!

So here goes:

1. Remove cap covering bolt on driver's side wiper and remove bolt. Unscrew the two black bolts on the passenger's side wiper. Now grab the wiper and pull at an angle. THe wiper arms are press fit on the studs, and you need to free them. Prying them up is not an option becuase it's all soft plastic underneath them. Simply pull at an angle, and they should pull off very easily. Set aside.

2. Open hood. Unclip the rubber weather strip from the front edge of the plastic cowl (8 clips). First the driver's side cowl will be removed. At the very edge is a plastic pin. Push up from underneath to get the pin to pop out. Now just grab the cowl and wiggle and pull towrds you and it should come right off. Repeat for the passenger side. Set aside.

3. Wiper motor. First unplug the motor wiring from the harness. Remove the 5 bolts and lift the entire wiper motor assembly out. Set aside.

4. Last step! Unscrew the two bolts from the realy box on the front of the black metal panel that was under the wiper motor. This is for easier access later. Remove the seven bolts holding the metal tray on. Two on each side and three along the middle. Do not try and remove the tray, as the harness is attached to it. Simply rotate it towards you to reach the three bolts.

5. Here comes the instgallation. Unscrew the three bolts on each shock tower. Put the corresponding bracket on each strut tower and replace the three bolts. Tighten. Halfway done!

6. Now flip the black tray back. Bolt on the relay box again. Place the strut bar oto the two brackets. It fits only one way, as the realy box is in the way. It is easier to screw the relay box back on to make sure you put the bar on correctly. Now once you are sure it's on right, put a bolt through each side. The bolt goes on from the back and the nut goes on the front. Insert an 8mm allen wrench into the bolt and tighten. Don't forget the washers!

7. Now reinstall each piece as it was removed. For the wipers, place the arms over the studs loosely and hold it in the right place on the windshield. Now screw on each bolt as you hold the wiper arm in the correct place.

8. Celebrate and take pictures. Then get out and DRIVE!
That's it. Here are the pictures:

I reiceived my Tom's strut brace but instructions are in Asian.
They show 3 torque specs, (39N.m, 69N.m' 21N.m) but I can't tell for which bolts. Would you know?
Also, where would I be able to get the Toyota Tech Info?

wow.. i cant believe no one has posted anything here since 2007!!Great looking prius doc.. what was the name of those wheels you posted you were going to get but seems like u never got them.. I like those..Any more info on these? Interested on 17's...

Hi Stang...,

This is a bit of a sad story. Doc was driving down the highway in a really bad Florida rain storming, moonless night. A drunk gambling girl decided to cross the freeway on foot at that time from one casino to the another. Out of no-where, he had no chance to avoid her. He was not injured, but he sold his repaired Prius shortly afterward. It was very emotional to see a human being be thrown up in the air off the front of the car for him.

Hey there,

Those mirror housings you got from sigmaautomotive do come with the autofold feature. All you need is to buy the module for it from the same site and install it by rewiring it. It's a hassle, but well worth it. Take it from me, I did it!
