i just finished changing the cv axle, the hybrid transaxle fluid, and engine oil on my toyota prius ( 2005 ). I just backed it out of my garage to sit and im wondering what advice should i follow for the first drive? the manufactured driveshaft i purchased is about 7 pounds heavier than the original toyota driveshaft, and it seems a lot stronger. Should i follow any precautions on first drive?

You are going to need some expert advice to tell you that a longer driveshaft will be compatable. I wouldn't drive the car until some Prius expert tells you the longer shaft is no problem. What if it bottoms out in the trasnsaxle when you hit bumps? If your transaxle case cracks, you are hosed. Forgive me if I over reacted, but an extra 7 lbs. it must be quite a bit longer.
its not longer same length same splines everything, just the material looks like heavy iron or steel. made in USA

i got a remanufactured driveshaft from this place in south carolina, the remanufactured one seems more stronger and has better hooks around the boots ( well easier to remove , hook type ) it just seems a lot more "expensive" ill take pics and post it. i paid 211 for the remanufactured cv axle

Even the best repairs have bad factory welds, incorrectly installed parts, etc. surface after installation (even though you did everything perfect). Just asking indicates you have more sense than most.
it drives fine, i just need to take it into toyota for wheel alignment would wheel alignment cause the driveshaft to break again?

Reason is it is a salvage car so he is into the vehicle for signifigantly less than most others. I also purchased a salvage. 2005 package 6 with 14137 miles. The repairs are almost such that you can barely tell. $14K. Pretty good deal eh? Sounds good on the shaft so far. Great price on the remanfactured part. Very smart thinking. D Rock
