<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Doc Willie @ Jul 7 2007, 10:52 PM) </div> i get REALLY excited every time i see a prius on the road! and i HAVE to point it out! i'm sure hubby is sick of me pointing out prii/priuses when we are out and about!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i LOVE the thread!
I see lots of them here in SoCa, more and more all the time. I'm the first to have one in my neighborhood though... I've decided that suv's are so passe'. Really...just yesterday's news H
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(LUVNLIF @ Jul 10 2007, 09:09 PM) </div> Visited my brother in law and they have a Prius and now my neighbor across the street just got a new one. I am also seeing many more on the road.
I usually count how many I see on my way home. My record high is 12. Of course, I have a 57 mile commute, so I have more time to spot them...
I can see about 30 a day when I am counting. Once I counted 123 Prii, well of course, the majority were in Berkeley. I think the SF Bay Area has the most Prii in the U.S. That is just a guess from how many I see around here, but there sure are alot of Prii here. Who agrees?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(orionll @ Jul 10 2007, 08:24 PM) </div> I agree! I'm in San Francisco and on my block alone we have 4. At my office (of 100 people) we have 6 in our garage. They are everywhere. I think they breed like bunnies!
I am amazed at how many I see in Eastern PA these days, though makes me happy to know people are at least paying attention to our gas crisis that is here and coming in the near future. Now if I can only get my family and friends to not hate me for loving this little car.... lol.... well not the car, but I guess my obsession with it
I've stopped counting, and now only count other Magnetic Greys that I see. Today I saw two (which is pretty good, considering I drove less than three miles each way).
Yesterday, on the way home, I was passed by a Gen 1 Prius... in white! It had exempt plates (so was a government car), and a bumpersticker that said: "(45+ MPG) You are following a Hybrid Electric/Gas car" I thought it was cute, seeing the differences!
Today, I saw a brand-new, still with dealer stickers Silver Pine Mica Prius! Wooo Hoooo *one of us. one of us. one of us* Oh, and this morning, I saw another SPM, with disabled plates, at the morning coffee stop...
We were in LA yesterday & while sitting outside for lunch (I was facing the street) I got to 34 passing & then lost count. Today on the 10 it was Grey (us), driftwood, Police, Driftwood. I think the cop was trying to hide!
I finally saw an identical car - same Barcelona red going the other direction. But my new boss and neighbor just purchased Prii. Seeing them everywhere now.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(X-MAN @ Jun 29 2007, 02:01 AM) </div> I see several a day here in Las Vegas, Nv and they all look like Sally Jessy Raphael is driving them
There was a time when in Cambridge, MA when I (Prius #1) was driving next to a blue prius (prius #2) and we pulled up to a red light. Waiting on the other side going the opposite way another blue prius (prius #3). Upon waiting a few more seconds another blue prius(Prius #4) pulls up to Prius #3 and makes a right on red. At the same time another blue Prius (Prius #5) drives in front of me through his green light and makes a left. Summary: 1 Black Prius (mine) + 4 Blue Prius's in less then 10 seconds.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(SureValla @ Jul 15 2007, 12:06 AM) </div> That would have been exciting! Yesterday was a great Prii day for us. We went to the Shaker Museum in New Hampshire and there was a Salsa Prius in the parking lot. Then we went shopping at the outlets in Tilton and there were 3 (blue, black, salsa) driving in the parking lot. Then on the way home we saw 2 more (both white). Yay!
I was getting ready to pull out of a parking space the other day and a car pulled into the spot to my left. I didn't recognize it, and started looking backwards to pull out when I see a silver Prius coming down the aisle and park to my right. I pulled out and discovered that the car that pulled in besde me to my left was a Classic Prius! The weird part of the story is that this was in my church parking lot! So much for Prius owners being atheists!
Saturday, we went to Costco in Tumwater, and had a hard time deciding which Prius we wanted to park by! There were an easy 8-10 of them in the parking lot, distributed fairly evenly.
Okay, this evening we went out to the parking lot at the casino (JavaJunki's class reunion was there), and there was a lovely grey Prius parked beside us! It had cute pinstriping!. We ended up having to run back inside for a few minutes, and when we came out, it was gone. Anyway, I think the two Prii were whispering to each other.... So, if you parked next to a cute SuperWhite Prius with a sharkfin, that's us!
Hi All, I see 4 or 5 Gen II Prii during my commuting. When I first bought my car, I had only seen one or two Gen II's ever on the roads. There are many (5 or 6 ? ) Gen I Prii in my home town here, however. Many people said they bought them over the internet. The area I live in has a high density of programmers (Spyglass, Lucent, Fermi, Argonne, others?). This week was the first time I saw a Barcelona Red Gen II Prius on the roads in my hometown (or elswhere actually). White, Silver, Blue and Tideland Pearl are much more common, and even the Light Green is more common than the Red. So, apparently when the Gen II Prius were offered in allocation only, that shut off the flow rather abrubtly to Chicagoland. I travelled almost 400 miles to a dealarship with incoming stock, when I decided to do something about my transportation. Only this spring (a year plus after buying my car) have Prii numbers come up in the western burbs. One week this spring I saw a row of 10 Prii in the dealership lot, and they were all gone the next. Recently, I saw the forrest green color on the Gen I Prius for the first time out on the highway. The Gen I Prius around here are mostly the light colors.
