While I understand you want this to be a rhetorical question, it's not. The answer is yes. Also, t'would be a sad day indeed if two Prii crashed into each other.
One of my favorite quotes from my wife. "The parking lot of Whole Foods is the only place you can have a 2 Prius accident"
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(AlphaTeam @ Jul 11 2007, 12:42 PM) </div> True P.S: I went to Whole Foods yesterday
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(AlphaTeam @ Jul 11 2007, 09:42 AM) </div> The Whole Foods equivalent here is Wild Oats (in fact, Whole Foods just bought Wild Oats). And sadly, when I go there, I'm usually the only non-SUV in the lot.
well wouldn't the two prii repel each other due to the magnetic forces being opposite? No damage done?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Elephanthead @ Jul 11 2007, 01:54 PM) </div> What if they both are magnetic grey!?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Michgal007 @ Jul 11 2007, 10:59 AM) </div> As that is such an attractive color...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(nicks @ Jul 11 2007, 11:36 AM) </div> Are the two drivers deaf?
The traction batteries contain a base, not an acid. It's Potassium hydroxide, with a little sodium hydroxide. Also I doubt you could puncture the battery, or if you did, the accident would be so violent nobody would likely survive anyway. I'm sure you were joking, but just in case you didn't know.
I think this brings up the even more expansive question of if two Prii were traveling in electric mode and they crashed into each other in the parking lot of Whole Foods, would they still be able to hear NPR?
Trader Joe's and Sprouts farmers market are the places in AZ where you'd see two Prii. Although there is someone around the block from me who has a gray one. Maybe I'll ambush him...
Almost happened to me a few months ago. Another Prius pulled in front of me (Driving on Bothell Way, not a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's etc.). I'm happy to report that the Prius has *very* good brakes
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Rae Vynn @ Jul 11 2007, 01:35 PM) </div> Excellent comment!!!
Sorry this is off topic, but I just realized. I don't listen to NPR. Could that be why I am only getting 50 MPG? Oh, and my favorite healyh food store has a pair of golden arches in front.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Bohous @ Jul 11 2007, 05:04 PM) </div> I almost fell out of the chair laughing.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(AlphaTeam @ Jul 11 2007, 12:42 PM) </div> Not true! It could happen in the lot in front of my condo. In which case it would be Silver Pine Mica vs. Silver Pine Mica.
"I think this brings up the even more expansive question of if two Prii were traveling in electric mode and they crashed into each other in the parking lot of Whole Foods, would they still be able to hear NPR?" My first thought was, "only the nearest body shop would hear it". But what if one of the drivers was listening to Howard Stern?
